I really hate science though and PE doesn't really have any prac which is why I want to do SLR. If I pick up ex history in year 12 than I'd have 14 units (unless I hated something and wanted to drop it) and that'd be too much work, so this way I'm dropping down to 13 regardless.
14 units is not too much work. I did it.

And if you don't like science - don't pick it.

Pick subjects you find interesting, its easier to study for subjects that you find interesting and it doesnt really seem like 'work'

I still think I'll stick to max 13 so then I can spend more time on each subject. Yeah, I don't think I'm going to do bio or any science.

Haha that's the problem. Legal, Entertainment and Drama all sound interesting to me.

this is very true. maths is my fav subject, so even though i hav 14 periods of maths every fortnight, and it takes a considerable amount of study, i dont feel like i hav worked all that hard this year bcuz i like maths. however with chemistry, i hate it so much, i cant even sit down for 20 minutes to study for it

Have you considered dropping maths altogether so that you can choose two out of Legal, Entertainment and Drama?
I have considered it and I haven't completely ruled it out either. I've looked for Navy and Police Force and well Navy only requires year 10 maths for most things and Police Force doesn't mention it at all.

But I think maths is probably going to be worth more in the long run especially for PE teaching and some aspects of the Navy. I could do a bridging course but yeah I dunno. It's probably better doing 1 thing I'm actually going to need and 1 thing I'm going to enjoy, rather than doing 2 things I'm going to enjoy and just leaving out the thing I'm actually going to need - if this makes any sense. I've got a tutor already for the rest of yr 10 as well as 11 and 12 so hopefully this could help more through it. And I know that everyone says to ignore what your parents say but if I do drama over maths..yeah, I don't think I'll be too popular with them.

But yeah, I'm still going to consider dropping it.

Thanks for the comments :)

Bio isn't like the other sciences. It's much less sciency.
Does SLR even count towards an ATAR?
It's best to do as many units as possible in year 11 so then when you get to year 12 you can drop your worst subject rather than having to keep it if you had only done 12.

I still don't think I'll do bio cause there are a few others things that I really want to do but can't because otherwise I'd have to many units and subjects. I've got 13 at the moment and if I drop SLR and pick up history extension in year 12 like I'm planning to I'll have 13 again.
SLR doesn't count towards the ATAR cause it's only for year 11 but it's either I do that or 2 unit SOR (which I don't want to do). I really want to do SLR though because PE has almost no prac.

People at my school seem to think legal's pretty good and the teacher is my year coordinator so they seem pretty good. But really i don't know which I'm going to choose. This morning I would have said legal, right now I'm saying Drama. Tomorrow I'll probably change my mind again.

Oh, okay. Our school must do the 2 unit version. Anyways... pick up drama and legal and don't do SLR if it's not going to count anyway and then you'll have more options to decide with in year 12.
That's what I really wish I could do but the way my school is set up there's english, either 2 unit religion or 1u re/sharing our story and a board endorsed course/ free period, and then you get to choose 4 subjects (modern history, mathematics, pe and either drama or legal). If it wasn't set up like this I'd deffs drop slr and do drama and legal but yeah, it is set up that way. :(

One more question: what's earth and environmental science like? I don't think I'm going to do drama or Entertainment VET but Im still deffs considering Legal Studies. I know I said I don't like science but by that I mean I hate writing word equations and remembering the elements and learning about physics and plants and all of that but i quite like the natural
diasaster and tectonic plates and well kinda geography science stuff. I had some meeting where u speak to the year 11s and 12s and they made it sound pretty interesting. I have to pick on Friday so if anyone can tell me more about it it'd be much appreciated :) Thanks
