What a bastard, its not the bus passenger's or anyone elses fault if he has cancer. The survivors of the bus attack should go desecrate that faggot's grave :chainsaw:

That's my home town too...

I wonder if I'll be thinking twice about going on buses now.

You mean in case there are any more bitter, terminally ill bus drivers eager to go out with a bang? Nah, you'll be right John :p

The rural population has been having clashes with police on and off this year, and one stage last month it got really ugly.

It is very hard for protesting to go ahead peacefully.

AH yes you refer to the uprising in a small country village somewhere in western china? Where somebody smuggled out fottage of police shootings etc.....

Hmmm i would like to see the spin that Xinhua originally put on this story. Certainly they would not have refered to the true reasons behind the mans actions.....(health reform)

What is it with hot tempered protesters and violence? They should learn to sign petitions instead of protesting and smashing public property. Ever seen the protests in South Korea? Even the most mundane union protests degrade into shoving and punching matches.

Im not sure, basically the farmerss were pissed off at conditions so the police tried to bribe them with goods, then the farmers didn't take to it and just exploded and attack the police driving them back.

Then just the other day a young poor boy was hit by a car of a big corporate owner. The whole town blew up and tried to attack the two bodygaurds and the owner of the car. They chased them into the cop station, where they took shelter. Eventually they rioted the whole town. I am in the process of trying to find the article, but yahoo i think has deleted it.

Oh in other reports

They were funky China men from funky Chinatown
They were chopping them up and they were chopping them down

I wouldn't be suprised if petitioning is as illegal as protesting. Both show public dissatisfaction with the government.

Did he yell out Allah Ackbar before setting off the bomb?

I wonder if he copied suicide bombing methods correctly.

as sad as it is

this is why suicide bombing has taken over from the olden day protests

it get's people's attention
A 42-year-old farmer with terminal lung cancer

I think this guys state of mind was a bit different to a young healthy Islamic suicide bomber. This guy has clearly had enough and had the best reason to do it, although it is not fair for the 31 wounded.

heh, we probably wouldn't have thought much of china's farmers are being treated badly by the government if he didn't blow himself up.

Why not actually take a look at Xinhua before you make such frivolous assumptions

Suicide bomber strikes on bus, injuring 31

www.chinaview.cn 2005-08-09 08:19:01

BEIJING, Aug. 9 -- A suicide bomber blew himself up on a bus in central Fuzhou yesterday, killing himself and injuring 31 others, local police said.

The blast in the capital of East China's Fujian Province went off at 2:32 pm as the No 5 bus pulled in at the Dongjiekou Stop in Dongda Road, one of the city's busiest streets.

There was a deafening "big bang," said Lin Lina, a female employee working in an office building on the roadside.

"Thick smoke rose into the sky, and we couldn't see or tell what was happening," Lin said.

Even from her office on the tenth floor, Lin said there was a strong smell of sulphur.

Eventually the smoke cleared to reveal the bus on the street below with its windows blown out.

"The passengers, injured and shocked, were struggling to get out of the bus," said Lin.

The shockwave from the home-made explosives was so huge that the windows of a nearby store shattered, according to the sohu.com website.

Lin's colleagues immediately called the emergency services. Fire engine and ambulance sirens soon rang through the street.

Police later said the explosion came from a second-row seat on the right-hand side of the bus.

The suspected bomber, Huang Maojin, died on the spot.

Huang, 42, was a farmer from Fujian's Gutian County.

According to a suicide note found by police, he had been suffering from lung cancer for about two years.

In the letter, Huang said he had a dispute with one of his neighbours in 2002. He claimed he had been unfairly treated by the local public security department and was sentenced to jail until the end of 2003.

The imprisonment delayed treatment of his illness, he claimed.

Huang's family was heavily in debt and his children were unable to go to school because of lack of money, the letter said.

Police are still investigating the case.

I was waiting for an idiotic comment like this. Even where Muslims have nothing to do with it whatsoever, they are brought in to it. What.the.fuck. Next time, just write "I HATE ALL MUSLIMS" on your forehead.
