These may have already been posted, but I thought I'd contribute anyway. The two related texts I've chosen are: The Crucible and the film Good Night, and Good Luck.

After watching it last night on the ABC I was wondering whether the Great Global Warming Swindle would be a good related text for Frontline?

Also, would it be a problem that in using this (not sure about other related text yet) I would be using two film/tv texts i.e. Frontline and Swindle documentary?

I can't find staright answer anywhere about whether you can use a prescribed text from one module or subject as a related text for another, i.e. an extension 1 prescribed text as a Telling the Truth related text. I've serarched the forum over and over again, run through the syllabus, and this thread has contradictory viewpoints on it. Can anyone help?
No you can't, or at least your not supposed to. The markers don't know what other modules you've studied so if you use a prescribed text from any other module, even if its not one you've studied, then they're just going to assume that you've been lazy and used a prescribed text from one of your other modules instead of finding your own texts. But i guess using a preliminary text would be alright.

That arcticle is awesome. It's almost ten years old but it's concise and perfectly related to the Telling the Truth module.

I used it for Frontline.

methinx chicago would work well

its kind of saying that its the public that decide what's the truth

coz by making any of the murdress's :p popular with the public, he was ensuring their innocence?

i didn't wend up doing it but my friend liked the idea

and she did it

a good text i think will work is the War Of The Worlds broadcast

u can read about it on wikipedia
and here...

http://www.war-ofthe-worlds.co.uk/war_worlds_orson_welles_mercury.htm

and listen to an mp3 of it

http://www.thomasamckean.com/otr/War of the Worlds.mp3

has anyone else used it?

did it work well?

I was thinking of doing Shattering Glass. It's a movie based on a journalist who wrote articles for years that were almost entirely all fictional. His stories went throught the fact checkers and everything. Anyone have any thoughts?
