Dont I have to be really really good to be on the FFP (what's that?) ? Although I sincerely have a passion for Engineering and I'm academically minded, I doubt I can go that far..

Federation Fellowships are something the Howard government created to try to lure ex-pats back to Australia. The deal is that they get double the standard Professorial salary for five years, AND a big pile of money to establish a research group and do research, AND they have no teaching duties except research supervision. After 5 years, they revert to ordinary Professor (E) positions, which means their salary halves and they have to do undergraduate teaching. The theory is that they will be established, and won't mind this and will stay. However, they are under no obligation to stay, and none has yet been here 5 years, so we'll soon see if this theory works in practice. Unsurprisingly, this has created a certain degree of friction with other staff...

BDS = Bachelor of Dental Surgery, I think.

Do you mean FRACP or FRACCP, because I know what the first one is, but haven't come across the second?

PS: With reference to your sig, theone123, you're going to have trouble getting an MBBS - an Australian qualification - from Yale - an American University. Just FYI. :)

The first, FRACP, is Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians. It is granted to a Physician who has completed their specialist training, and thus been granted a Fellowship in the College.

And, I don't have custom status, I have Teacher status.

I meant the comment about Teacher status literally - my BOS status is 'Teacher', and I can't change it to something else, ie. it isn't a custom status. If you don't believe me, go look at the Forum Leader list - the Teachers are listed between the Super Moderator and the Moderators. :)

Dammit, I knew I was probably wrong when I assumed you were attempting humour. :p
