Are the standard of questions in this book regarded as easy or difficult ( I find it difficult)? Are the questions in these of higher standard than exam questions?

I can do most of the questions but I am finding some very difficult.

The cambridge book I think are frekin hard compared to all the other books - esp maths ext 1 & 2 books.

It's only normal that alot of them are very difficult.

I'm quite certain that if you pick 20 out of Cambridge book and are able to do half or more, you're doing good (not the best perhaps).

I think the exam questions will feel a lot harder than the Cambridge ones. Due to the time limit and Cambridge is not very hard so most people will be able to do the exams questions.

From my experience text book questions arent like the ones u get in the hsc with the exception of integration and volumes. Just learn the topic and then hit past paper q's asap. You can get past paper q's topic by topic from the hsc and cssa exams.

True - I've been doing questions from Fitzy and Cambride in class and at home I've been doing past CSSA and HSC Questions - they are pretty different. That's why I'm trying to do as much past paper questions as possible.

Try doing the further questions in cambridge - the diagnostic tests are jokes.

Yeah the Further Questions in Cambridge are damn gold.
I don't find the exercise questions in Cambridge hard though :S
Maybe try the Fitzpatrick book? Or Patel's first to help you learn the basics.

How long, on average, would you spend on one of the cambridge extension questions (last ones)?

I have to agree with you about the cambridge questions being hard, i just find the excersises long! So i just try to do as little as i can and still get the jist of it.

I also agree with your last comment. Using fitzpatrick as a suplement is good as you can get the jist of it and just go on to harder questions in cambridge.

I use Terry Lee to supplement Cambridge. Terry Lee is easier than Cambridge but goes over all aspects very well. The Harder 3U Q in Terry Lee are very good (very hard). I also agree that the further Q are a joke!

Hey. Don't worry too much about some of the questions. Some of them are ridiculuos.

For example, with inequalities, sometimes questions in there just jump out of nowhere, and your expected to know exactly what to do without guidance. Exam questions tend to guide you with part a, b, c, d etc.

Overall though, it is a challenging book.

They are hard in the right way.. I think I would describe it as having "good taste", where they are motivated by deeper mathematics and not just making one do relatively easy but tedious manipulations
