OJ, he technically has the Super Aguri drive, but the team has been in really bad shape financially and have therefore not been in a position to sign contracts with drivers. When they arrive in Melbourne, it's probably that Sato and Davidson will have the drivers' duties, but they just don't have contracts as yet.

selling a ticket for this weekend, 1 spare 4-day ticket in the fangio grandstand (facing the pit garages and the main straight, as well as the podium)

it's seated next to me, and if you happen to purchase it, you're not obliged to talk to me.

selling for $200, really cheap considering it was purchased for $439.

if anyone's interested, please reply here:

Good Price :)

I'm opposite the podium too!

I spent like $70 on pizza last year. I plan on doing the same again this year.

Super Aguri has officially been sold. They've been purchased by the Magm Group, a British consortium. Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson have been retained as drivers, but there's no word on how this will affect the organisation. However, the team is likey to keep the Aguri name.

re: The Official F1 Thread

Just got back from the GP.

Best year yet as far as I am concerned.

I even got on the Sutton Images website with Kimi Raikkonen :D

Also, the Kiss concert afterwards was insane.

Had to feel for Sebastian Bourdais, a great drive and to DNF only 2 laps from the end :(

Will be one to watch in future.

Edit: Running onto track afterwards and climbing fence infront of podium was awesome also :D

New 2008 car set on BATracer! New cars, new circuits and new qualifying rules. I'm yet to have a go as all my public games are full, but don't be expecting a McLaren or Ferrari drive any time soon. Fucking cherrypickers sit on the Join Public Game screen all day waiting for a new game to begin (there's two in particular I hate who multi-account and take all the McLaren drives; it's a wonder they haven't been done in yet).

They needn't bother; I can kick their arses in Hondas and Super Aguris. And speaking of Super Aguri, it's gone from the best car in the 2007 car set (only car that could get perfect set-up on Monaco) to worst in 2008.

I wholly intend to get a Honda and make a record of the perfect set-up for each race and use it in later games ...

Stop with the shameless Batracer plug :p I just started an F1 2008, and boy the new qualifying sucks, I started in exactly the same position as Piquet Jr in exactly the same car! :D
And about the perfect set up at Monaco, choose Monaco as your home race, you'll get 6 laps instead of 4 for set up ;)

I think we are starting another private game soon, you got a free slot?

Anyways onto the race: What a shit race for a ferrari fan; too hot in Melbourne too, just about died

I wonder why ...

No, most 2007 cars are several points away from a 100% perfect setup. While you can still get a full set-up for your car, Super Aguri are the only ones who can get it all right, which makes it the perfect cherry-pick. The catch is that none of the new kids know it; they just sit around waiting for a McLaren, Ferrari or BMW-Sauber. But now the 2008 car set is here, the Super Aguri is crap even if you can get it perfect for the race in the principality.

Yeah, I've got one. Save us a Ferrari or McLaren or BMW-Sauber seat (there's a reason why they get cherry-picked) if you can. I'm currently running a Honda and a Williams in other private games - I had to take private as none of my public games finish for a week. I just want to stick one to that fucknut Lam. He's worse than that Leon Slabbert wanker. And I'm racing under my proper name now.

Will give you the details when the game is set up.

Shiny. I'm assuming you'll be going for a Ferrari? How do you guys pick that, anyway? I know at GTP forums - I'ma member, but I've only done GTP Season 15 - they run a lottery where you pick a number and put your request for a car in and if you get drawn you have to wait for everyone else to sign up and then choose another team. I was stuck with that crappy Renault.
Cape said:

Yeah, him. The arrogant fuck who assumes he's better than anyone in the game because of his world ranking. WRs don't mean shit; the guys who joined when the game first started will always be in the top positions, and as long as they keep racing, they'll stay there.

He's not as bad as a guy I got stucked with by the name of Leon Slabbert. He cherry-picks every single McLaren drive that comes up with one of his mates, and they have at least four accounts each. He took my team-mate's drive in the GTP private game and then whined loudly when I refused to share set-up data because he did all his runs at the last minute so I couldn't get info.

And I'm racing under a new name. I had to use my middle name (and I stuck an extra "e" on the end of it) as there's another person with my name who registered and I was worried the Powers That Be would think I was multi-accounting (one account - twelve games - is enough for me). If you can't find me, I'll send you a PM telling you where to find me; I'm not longer a member of Honda as they did nothing. I jumped ship and now I'm with E-Race.

Hey, Renaults aren't that bad! I'd have it over a beemer any day of the week. Anyways, we just usually dive in and choose our own cars ... but our names are already down for one of the 3 cars that you'd like. I'd like a Ferrari again :)

I agree with you about Lam ... arrogant little fuck was trying to boot people out of our clan just because they weren't in any public games at that particular moment.

I think I've found you, I'm very good at stalking you ;) Plus not many people from that little town in the middle of no where's ville :D

Enjoying the 12 games? :)

Well, I'm currently doing three games: one in a Honda with a guy who doesn't seem to do, on in a Williams with a guy in the top 100, and one in a Scuderia Toro Rosso with my latest protege; I learned BATracer from the best, and I like to pass the stuff I learn on. My latest trick is to use Microsoft Excel to create a database of car settings - so far I only have the Courage C65 and Honda RA108 - but the new anti-cherrypicking rules will prevent me from using those cars again. Which is ironic, because I think I'm the only one who cherrypicks the Honda ... there's one guy I've had the displease of racing with who has four accounts with KT, and he sits on the main page and picks out all the McLaren drives four his four accounts and the uses his friend's acconts to do the same so between them they have 32 McLaren drives. I made mention of it a while ago on the BATracer Workshops forums, and I think that's one of the main reasons why they introduced the new rules; one of the admin team hangs out in the workshops, and he asn' impressed to learn what these guys had been up to.

He was just a pain in the arse duing that ChampCar game. Seemed to think that because he had a higher WR, everyone should defer to him. I had a shouting match with him at one stage; I think it ws because he didn't find your nude catalogue funny.

Are you sure? I blend in a little bit, and I look very different now as of last week.

11; I'm still waiting for this MWF game to begin. I'll give you to details to the next DNF World Championship game when it begins (we just began BAT7s). The objective is to retire from as many races as possible; it's really quite funny.

Anyway, I'm watching the live timing and it's a Massa-Raikkonen one-two in Saturday practice. Lewis Hamitlon is coming dead last, fifteen seconds behind the leaders and twelve off the Super Aguris.

Geez, I didn't even realise that there were anti-cherry picking rules now, but then again, I just filled my slots up before the rule was introduced. Good rule anyway :) Only ever had 1 top car (ferrari).

I think that you were the only one to find it funny, with your warped sense of humour. And he's not just a pain in the ass in the game ... he's constantly telling us all off the forum, thinking that he's always right.

Our game will probably start in about a week, fucktard Lam has already decided that we HAVE to use the new car set. The DNF world championship sounds interesting though.

And wooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooo! On Sepang qualifying! :D :D :D
Heikki smashes Lewis ... :D :D :D

As opposed to what? The '07 edition? Or did you have plans for something like BAT-7? I suppose he gets first pick of the car set, too? That's only a problem if he's collecting data beforehand like I do, and he can still be beaten. Make sure you save that seat for me, whatever you get (unless it's the Aguris or Fifis, which are crap).

And if he pisses you off that much, just rally support for a different private game and call it by whichever number game you're up to. I don't fancy your chances though; thse Solvakians were awfully pushy when I went toe-to-toe with Lam.

Jarno Trulli is widely regarded as Formula One's premier one-lap specialist. He just has some trouble translating it into race pace.
