Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Thoughts on what Manchester City buying Melbourne Heart will mean for the club and the league?

nothing major. realistically the City Group is going to struggle to turn the investment into the $$$

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

However they'll probably make Heart more of a fighting force and may get a great marquee player or two in, one Australian and one international. The Man City link may also encourage more of the Eurosnobs to take notice of the domestic league which can only be good.

Also will help tons if they ditch the name "Heart". Yes it might be a nice name in Europe but... it's a bit of a nothing name here, to be perfectly honest.

Re: The Official Football Thread

Mourinho knows he's good and can make an impact at Manchester United, and since we have a very small chance at actually winning the PL this season by giving us Mata we can use him to stand a better chance against Arsenal, Liverpool, etc. which would give Chelsea the lead. Smart move, Mourinho...

And on the A-league topic, it's just not as big as the leagues in Europe. I would like to see it grow bigger though.

Re: The Official Football Thread

Fair enough, I understand the whole prestige and "big"-ness thing about European football.

Just out of interest though, who here goes to A-League games, or supports an A-League side?

Not convinced we'll find a replacement either.
