Who do u guys are the best by genre?
Mine would be
Thrash:
Nu-Metal:
Thrash/Speed:
Progressive:
Power:
Heavy/Traditional:
Groove/Trash:
Gothic/Doom:
Death:
Melodic Death:
Industrial:
Sludge:

Let's modify this a bit. There really are only 4 or 5 distinct genres of metal. Thrash (think the big 4 - metallica, megadeth, anthrax and slayer) they each do something distinctly well), Sludge (Black Sabbath branching off through to Pantera, Type O Negative, Kyuss type bands), Death (Death, through some Pantera, Origin, Atheist and Acid Bath hardcore style groups and Nile, Opeth and Cryptopsy from more modern origins) and Traditional (which would include your Deep Purple, Rainbow, Michael Schenker, Judas Priest and AC/DC type groups as well as Iron Maiden). I see 'Progressive' bands like Dream Theatre to be more part of the prog-rock style, yet still distinctly metal as well. There will always be outliers .

You don't count black metal as a genre, yet you count sludge...?

Power and Black could be argued to be offshoots of Traditional and Death respectively, but yeah I don't see how Sludge gets its own category...

Yeah, where's the metal heads group, they're seems to be other groups. My fave metal album would have to be Show no mercy by Slayer. I pretty much like all metal but that album is pretty good. What do you think of nu metal?

Depends on what you define to be nu metal, but most of it's shit.

its also cause of the lack of talent, and it sounding like garbage, and uninspired songwriting.

Overly simplistic songwriting techniques reminiscent of pop-punk bands.

You were right about Korn. :(

I listened to their self-titled album, claimed by many fans to be their best album, but instead, it was pure shit.

On another note, SOAD would be a good nu-metal band, only if their songs weren't so short.

I reckon System are worse then korn, anyone heard Static-X like a blatent ripoff of Korn.

Disregard my user name, as not much a fan of Korn anymore, but i reckon there best album was Follow the Leader

Nu-metal is slowly merging into a heavy version of hip hop. look at Linkin Park, they don't care any more, they want more money and that's why they released that gay album, reanimation or something, and that thing with Jay z, wtf!!!!!
