your right the cover of one was pretty crap but i dont mind korn but i also dont mind morbid angel pantera or canible corpse or sepultura, i guess i listen to a wide range of music so shmeh

morbid angels drummer is the maddest, but i also like dimmu borgir arch enemy cradle of filth ,damage plan, fear factory, coal chamber, ill nino, machine heal, in flames, prodegy(wich isnt metal but there cool any way) slip knot, kittie , soilworks, kania, anxiety whispers , soulfly,god the list goes on

The one on MTV Icon? Yes, I've seen it. But surely, it was better played than anyone else who covered Metallica. Other than Metallica themselves...of course.

morbid angel, cannibal corpse, megadeth, slayer, nile, naglfar, burzum, mayhem, amon amarth, emperor, bloodbath, deicide, opeth, destroyer 666, pantera, kreator... and the list goes on

fave album - probably either In Their Darkened Shrines by Nile, or Cold Steel For An Iron Age by Destroyer 666

Enslaved, Otyg, Vintersorg, Aphotic, Astriaal, Samael. Sigh, Evergrey, Kamelot, Dragonforce, Sol Invictus, Woods Of Ypres, Winds, Necrophagia, Summoning and Arcturus are also all excellent bands that haven't already been mentioned.
