I'm not normally a big Gullie fan but I love him today.

Come on Nably!!

Everyone who can get tickets (there are heaps) should go tomorrow. It is going to freaking rock.

I know I am being quite unpatriotic Lleyton is just a jerk...recalls casino incident.

one of my best friends Liz and her friend were at the casino and Liz's friend is a huge lleyton fan and Liz is not so much a lleyton fan. However when she saw he was at the casino she dragged Liz over to ask him for a autograph and he was a total intoleralbe druken jerk to say the least. Liz to was also drunk then said to him 'well Marat Safin is better then you'..hahahaha.

I used to like Tojo but this is just mean. Until he gets drastic plastic surgery and looks like Marat Safin I don't think he should comment on other peoples looks.

Even though she was smashed off the court by Venus Williams, almost all of the tennis world remains love-struck by Maria — all apart from Thomas Johansson. The unassuming Swede has come out with one of the quotes of the tournament. He says Maria is ugly. He claims that, while she can be stunning in some pictures, up close she's nothing special.

Johansson is happily engaged to a stunning girl named Gisella Kaltenecker, so that explains something. However, the fact he sets such a high standard for women is all the more surprising, given that his nicknames are alternatively Dopey or Sneezy. He gets Sneezy because he's allergic to grass — a very unfortunate ailment for a tennis player. Dopey comes from the big ears — his family called him that when he was growing up and it's stuck.

I've done a quick straw poll with the blokes in the Channel Nine office and think I can safely say that, with his Sharapova opinion, the Number 14 seed and former Australian Open champion is most definitely on his own.

He was misquoted in that article... there were monster threads on MTF and WTAWorld on this... he never actually said she's ugly, just not that special looking. It's just channel nine trying to sell the goss  wait i'll find the translated Swedish article...

Question:
Sjarapova ja. Tycker du att hon är så snygg som alla säger?
Sharapova yes. Do you think she is as good looking as everyone says?

Thomas answers:
- Nja, jag tycker inte hon är så snygg i verkligheten. Jag springer ju ofta på henne i spelarrestaurangen och så där.
- Nah, I don't think she's that good looking in real life. I often bump into her in the player's lounge och elsewhere.

- Men hon gör sig otroligt bra på bild. På en del bilder jag har sett av henne är hon otroligt snygg.
- But she makes herself look incredibly good looking in pictures. In some of the pictures I've seen she's incredibly good looking.

(from Aftonbladet)

And he was merely answering a question asked by a nosey journalist in the first place. He's the kind of player who'd rather talk tennis than nonsense in interviews. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with saying someone's not that special looking IMO, as he himself is happily engaged to gorgeous Gisella :)

BTW thanks for sharing that Hewitt story! I'm not surprised really!

Kimmie def Venus 7-5 6-2 to win the Stanford title.

Davenport is injured and apparently will not play until the US open, which means Maria Sharapova will become no.1. Pretty impressive since she is 18.

Juan Carlos, nothing could make you a bigger loser right now  :(

imo there are some very entertaining female players to watch - henin-hardenne and mauresmo primarily. mirza is another one who is fun to watch because of her forehand. but i think men's tennis is vastly superior because there is so much more variety in playing styles...sharapova, williams, davenport, clijsters etc. i mean they all have exactly the same playing style. i would rather watch roger federer hit a ball against a wall than any of their matches.

federer is probably the most graceful player i've seen in a long time. but i don't find mauresmo particularly entertaining...can you say MAN?
