well Bookie you are right...the world xi suck...all out for 144 after 50.0 overs...macgill played a great game...

when they say that gilchrist won player of the series...it that including the one-dayers...coz i was only one test match...and he didnt do the great despite his 94...i thought macgill bowled very well with 9 wickets...he shouldve got smtg...gilly alwayz gets player of the series awards...:(...meh :p

i reckon this was a pointless game coz like the world didnt even put up a fight...pathetic losers...soz

Hey, they get their 25000 - see if they care.

I reckon they shouldve asked for a World XI to play for free / charity fees and the players who wouldve applied would have made a better contests. I'd rather see Tatenda Taibu and VVS Laxman than Inzi and Lara.

the problem is that people wanted to see lara, kallis, dravid, (tendulkar if he was fit) et al playing together as a team of "stars". in this concept it is the "names" that draw the attention, however this is independant of form and their form has been shit. i mean lara havent played for a year, and neither would have tendulkar had he been fit, yet most people wanted to see them in the team before the series. its a concept that catches imaginations but crashes down in reality. perhaps they could have timed this series better, so to maximise the players match practice.

but really this is an exhibition series that doesnt deserve official status. Australia had far stronger motivation after the ashes debacle; the ROW players are content enough to be picked and is here for a nice enjoyable holiday (while getting paid). i'd imagine they would be far less focused

The ICC giving away money? Pffffffffffffft. the money they gave to pakistan for the earthquake was shit all to what they would have made for this series.

ive never rated lara against australia. when his career is done, that will be his biggest regret, doing shit against australia for his whole career. i thought it before the series, and i think it now.

it shits me that macgill took more than warney. the arrogant cunt took the wickets of the tailenders, warney got the important ones as usual. i know hes a nsw but let this be the one and only time i like a mexican better than one of us

i dunno... Lara has scored some of his best centuries against australia.. in his first tour down here, in the series in the carribean when waugh 1st became captain.... he is macgrath's bitch tho(and bracken's in ODIs lmao)

How bout Inzi, he would give whitey a run for his money as the man of series. After endless whinging about being left out, cometh the moment: 2 innings, 7 minutes, 7 balls, 1 run, $25000. money do come easy dont they.

his 277 at the scg? the 153* at bridgetown, where he batted with the tail to win the match by 1 wicket for his team?

mcgrath does have the wood over him, but there have been times when he has been irresistable against us.

yeah, i spose i was a bit harsh. i particularly remember when he came to australia with that english chick and did shit all in five tests. but his worst performances are against australia for sure- he has failed against australia unlike no other nation

Just to add to what Jimmy and I said:

Brian Lara:

Code:
                Mat I NO Runs HS1 HS2 HS3 Ave 100 50 0
Career 118 208 6 10859 400* 375 277 53.75 30 46 14
vs Aus 28 52 2 2511 277 213 182 50.22 8 11 5
8 centuries vs Aus:
Code:
Score Match
277 3rd Test 1992/93 at Sydney
132 5th Test 1996/97 at Perth
213 2nd Test 1998/99 at Kingston
153 3rd Test 1998/99 at Bridgetown
100 4th Test 1998/99 at St John's
182 3rd Test 2000/01 at Adelaide
110 1st Test 2002/03 at Georgetown
122 2nd Test 2002/03 at Port of Spain (91 in the 1st innings too)
add to that 11 50's

dont think many batsmen in the world can say they averaged in the 50s against us though the 90s and this decade *cough* kallis's 30odd compared to his career 50odd*cough*

steve waugh's first series as captain. we had no idea how to bowl to him. he almost won the series for them single-handedly.

i rated him higher than tendulkar after that series, but sachin subsequently showed how consistently classy he is. i hope he's back to his best when the windies come here.

Go the Blues. Great win. Good match.

Can't wait for the Pura to come back to the SCG. Its been 6 months of boredom. Pura just makes it make boring, but its a way of life. UP THE BLUES!

PROTEAS!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, NewZealand got beat.

Shane Bond plays a match against a real side and gets 1/53.

Shaun Pollock - 37 :D :D :D

Makhaya Ntini got injured early though. Thats a shame. Hope he's good to come to Australia this summer.
