lol, silly vatican.

Does the bible say anything about contraception? Mr Pope is condemning it, but if the bible says nothing about it, then it shouldnt be a problem, since we got more worrying enviro problems, ie carbon content in atmosphere and stuff.

And linseed has oestrogen too, ive started working out (..again) and i am NOT eating soy and linseed bread anymore. I read from a trustworthy internet source (wait, is that possible?) that soy and linseed contain some amounts of oestrogen/phytoestrogen and thus have negatory effects relative to muscle growth (where testosterone is important).

So yeah, dont dump soy and linseed bread into waterways either, or pope will get angry at you.

EDIT: i wonder what biology expert katie tully's opinions are about soy (and now linseed) and their phytoestrogen/oestrogen levels..

My Catholic family, and most Catholics I know, pay little attention to the Vatican. He's like what the Queen is to the British. Heck, even in America, where religious lunacy is accepted as normal, Catholics there overwhelmingly support contraception, and tend to support things like abortion and gay rights.

Only Catholic I know who listens to the Pope is Iron, but he's a bit touched.

My guess is this is far, far, more detrimental to Africa, South-East Asia, and Latin America than anywhere in the Western World.

Which is exactly the Vatican's intent. They realise the West is a lost cause, so are trying to scare the developing countries off Western practices. I imagine the Vatican would be quite content for developing countries to simply not develop, since that way they maintain their strangle-hold on faith due to hopelessness.
Piss off Slidey. Your herd view that true believers like me are sheep is IRONic. Any Catholic supporting the buzz words you mentioned will be excommunicated, but this is irrelevant because the 'overwhelming' bulk of so-called Catholics you refer to probably dont even attend mass.

Pfffft

The Catholic Church will say and do anything to attempt to gain some form of 'Relevancy'

If they had their way, they would make sure that all contraception (particularly in Africa) is banned. That way, much more children are born (albeit with crippling diseases, or HIV), which in turn means more souls to convert.

It's Two-Thousand-and-fucking-Nine; why are we still giving the Catholic Church the slighest bit of attention?!
