I'm sure every checkout department gets their fair share of royalties as well.

Suck it up and put the stock back, you might actually do some work for once.

Depends whether you mean 'paid for and left behind' or loose stock in which the customer decided against buying before paying for their transaction.
Oh, he meant stock customers dump? Haha, yes well we do that with fresh food departments obviously but we put away long life. What shits me is nightfill leaving trolleys of whole cartons for checkouts to put away.

That`s Exactly What I meant. and I agree about Nightfill. I`m on school holidays in WA & working a lot of morning shifts. Let me tell you, when all the stock has been put away the night before & you come in at 8 to a FULL Trolley or More, when the store is just about to open, then something is seriously wrong.

And In response to Suic1de

I`d have You know that checkouts is one of the hardest working departments. We do SOOO Much more than just stand there and scan items

Forgot To Mention, our store got the update last night.

The New Receipt Header & Customer checkout screen look nice.

The Only change we had to self-serve was that, at the end of the transaction, instead of saying "Thank You for Shopping at Woolworths", It Now Says " Thank You for shopping with The Fresh Food People"

Dunno what everyone was talking about in terms of the new self-serve system!

Your just another one way checkout person.

If you ever move to backdock you'll see it's alot harder then socialising for hours like every other checkout person.

I know people that have had to work 12 hours straight overnight, just to get things sparkling for a special day.

Where was the thanks for that mate? Oh thats right there wasn't a thank you, instead just whinging about a little extra stock in the trolley.

Grow up before you start thinking you know the world of Woolworths.

yeah our store got the update too last night.
i agree the checkout screen looks nice but the header is stupid. the logo is so tiny! its only like 1 cm big and is totally out of proportion with the rest of the receipt.

ok, so the early self serve checkouts were rolled out with NCR software (its grey and you can see it in these photos: Photos: Woolworths Fastlane checkout: News - Business - ZDNet Australia)
stores that have had Self serve installed more recently have software called WoWPoS SCO (basically its software custom made for (by?) woolworths) and this is the dark green one that i dont like the look of.

New SECOND store in the same shopping centre that opened up around 2 weeks ago has the new self serve software on their registers.

I don't work at Woolworths, so maybe it's different for you, but I don't mind the new dark green one. The interface is a bit different, but now you can do a cash withdrawal without having to buy anything, the voice isn't as annoying and it doesn't say, Swipe Card, Select Account, Enter your pin, it just says, Swipe card and follow instructions on the Pinpad when paying by EFTPOS.

We have had a Green Interface & The Cash Withdrawal option for Months, as well as the options to do a price check & Use your own bag buttons. However, we still have the annoying voice saying " Swipe Your Card. Select Account.Enter Pin".

like i said a couple of pages back, im sure that they have fixed plenty of the bugs that are in the old software.

things like putting loose nuts on a separate menu from fruit/veg and actually labeling the button 'fruit veg' will help customers hugely. im glad they have gotten rid of those spoken instructions as it ALWAYS lagged behind the pinpad and many people were looking for the credit button on the main screen lol.

i just think its a shame they had have to such a different interface (why couldn't they keep the old one and just modify it??) as it will just totally confuse our customers when we get the upgrade.

There is no website available for King Gee products. Speak to your Office Cashier or Store Services Manager who will give you a form. Alternatively, they are available on StoreNet.
