Why are you getting them sent to your work? I put my home address in?
And I didn't know what the employee number was so I just put like 111111, but now I take it, it is our sign on number.
Ahh,, if they delierved it to home addresses, any random person could order one. And when they review your order details, your # being 111111.... anyway, they get delievered to your store... at least, thats what happened with me.

Dial #9 for all zones.
Quality is lower on the phone page compared to regular push-mic P.A though.

Thanks

I was wondering if I could just go out and buy a Cordless phone because my produce room has it's own phone, so perhaps I could just unplug it and plug the cordless one in.

Might try it one day, it's always handy to have a phone on you.

Edit: although thinking about it the frequency might mess with the frequency that the RF guns are on. (doubt it but you never know)

Hmm, thats weird, i didn't think there was a rule. When im in express i always need to call my supervisor if someone needs a check seal or whatever.
Oh, and iMathew do you need to actually dial hash (#) then 9??

Yes, I think it's hash before the nine.

there's no rule... but there's only one PA in the whole of checkouts (on the service desk) in my store.

Same as us. I think thats pretty standard especially for the newer stores. I;ve heard of some of the older stores having a P.A on each 2 checkouts

lol we used to have three before our refurb... now they're all gone but one :(
Exactly, because they don't want everyone using the P.A all the time. It should only really be used when you really need something. Customers dont like hearing the constant *BEEP* JOHN SMITH SERVICE 20 REGISTER 4... would you?? Anywho..

Yeah we have 1 phone and 1 PA mic in the service desk, and I still manage to use the P.A often :p. Your store is pathetic for having that rule of not letting you use it.
Yeah you must use the hash (#).

I did every 5 minute close reminder the other night..

"Attention customers, just a reminder that this store will be closing in approximately 15 minutes time, I repeat: this store will be closing in approximately 15 minutes time. Please finalise your purchases by making your way up to register 10 or self serve. On behalf of all the staff here tonight, we'd like to thank you for shopping with us at Safeway xxxxxxx"

Takes about 10-13 seconds to say.

@lacho95 - The point of the P.A is to get assistance promptly. P.A's are used for that, nobody uses P.A's for no reason, why would they? :S

We're not allowed to do a pre-close call, only one dead on 5/6/9 pm.

I always wondered why we didn't do a pre-close call, so we're not actually "allowed"?
