I have classes one after the other and I can't change. Just wondering; how long does it take to walk from:
- Carslaw building to Bosch building
- Footbridge theatre to Institute building
- Institute building to Education building
- Chemistry building to Carslaw building
- Merewether to Wallace

Thank you !

Carslaw to Bosch = <10mins depending how fast you walk.
Chemistry to Carslaw = a minute... they are both on Eastern Ave.
Mereweather to Carslaw = 5ish- mins but it depends if the traffic lights are on your side.

Keep on tinkering with your timetable if you can until uni starts. :)

Well classes usually begin 5mins past the hour and end 5mins before the hour. If it is a tutorial then the tutors will understand that you have to walk from one building to another. :)

footbridge to institute and institute to education are both going to be difficult to do in 10mins because you need to cross at the lights and they're different ends of the campus. For Institute to Education, you could maybe walk down Fisher Road and then left on Manning (defs faster than going up to Eastern Ave). I'd probably suggest the Fisher/Manning road for when going from Merewether to Wallace as well. Carslaw to Bosch you can just go straight down Physics road.

Carslaw to Bosch can usually be done in 8-10 (it's all downhill so sometimes a little longer to go the reverse way) and the easiest way is to go down some stairs between Masden and Chemistry, then straight down Physics road.

I personally wouldn't do Merewether to Wallace/Footbridge to Institute/Institute to Education if I didn't absolutely have to, but I'm a relatively ambly walker and would rather spread out my classes.

You can always wander around in o-week to test out the distance between things and find your classrooms so you're not stressing during your first week or two :)

I'm really lazy, so I'd probably change subjects if I got that timetable.

Though, Chemistry to Carslaw is really easy.

But don't stress - you'll be fine!

Yeahs, I was thinking about changing but then I'll end up with like 3-4 hours break. I'll just see how I go.
Thanks everyone !

Apparently it takes 5 minutes.

I sure hope so, because I'm in the same situation :(

Carslaw/chem to Wallace is fine. I did that (or the opposite) a lot in first sem.

Shouldn't be too bad, you just walk out to City road and cross the road.

Also Eastern Ave -> Bosch...ergh that is gonna be ghey.

i personally don't like carslaw to wallace because of all the traffic, but if you can take some of the back roads, it's definitely doable

also carslaw to wallace is better because it's downhill but wallace back to carslaw is a little uphill and the traffic is annoying

Well, that's USYD for you. In theory, classes start 5 minutes after n:00 and end 5 minutes to n+1:00.

FWIW, walking times, in the quoted text:
I have classes one after the other and I can't change. Just wondering; how long does it take to walk from:
- Carslaw building to Bosch building: 5 to 10 m
- Footbridge theatre to Institute building: 15 to 20 m
- Institute building to Education building: 10 to 15 m
- Chemistry building to Carslaw building: 3 m
- Merewether to Wallace: 10 to 15 m

Thank you !
What the hell do you do?

Learn the campus inside-out and use shortcuts. Also, learn to make use of the Fine Arts Library.

When walking into uni from redfern what's the shortest way to get to Bosch? And to get from Bosch to eastern ave is the fastest way along physics road and between chem/masden?

It was so much simpler last sem when I was always around eastern ave and occasionally wallace

You may want to consider catching a bus from Central to get to Bosch and Bosch to Eastern Ave it is definitely faster to take Physics Road.
