Hey,
So i've just started year 12 this term and i haven't been doing that well in advanced english. I was ranked about 38/60 for year, in a low ranked school, which i'm not happy about. I know my essay writing skills are pretty bad, and so is my ability to analyse a text, but i've tried so hard and i don't seem to be able to get much better. Does anyone have any tips on improving? I really don't want to be so low ranked in year 12. Also, i'm pretty new to this site, does anyone know if i'm able to post essays or writings and get feedback for free? I know there are people who charge for this but i don't have the money.

Thank you :)

read more books in the holidays, write something every week (essay, articles or w/e) get some feedback, keep doing this and you should improve significantly - but of course, you have other subjects to worry about too in year 12.

english tutor, teacher or family friend? - even criticise it yourself if you really have to.

You could post it on here, but everyone's quite busy and you're not guaranteed a great response.

Criticising yourself can include writing it today and editing it tomorrow, etc.

hmm interesting, i just don't think my knowledge on essays and writings is good enough for me to properly criticise it, i guess i can send it to my teacher, but he's really busy and usually doesn't give thorough feedback.
