What are some good related texts for The Story of Tom Brennan? (preferably a film)

My teacher gave us a bit of a list of related texts for Tom Brennan (some more suitable than others):

- Pleasantville.
- Vincent (shot animation) by Tim Burton.

They were all the films we analysed in class; other texts included:

-The Door by Miroslav Holub (Poem).
- The Little Train by Graham Greene (short story).
- No such thing - John Meyer (song).
- The Sea Child - Katherine Mansfield.
- Lighthouse - the waifs.

There's plenty of films out there, you just have to think about the underlying concepts of going into the world as you're watching.
