And at my school the average was heaps low for some reason... probably around 60-70 or so i'm guessing anyway...strange that

What were the averages like at your schools?

Yeah the average at ours was heaps low too, they marked it harshly, probably just to kick us into form for the real HSC. The top kids still came top, just with a lower mark than usual

The averages in each task at my school ranged from 4-8, not very good for advanced! In all but one did I get above average, i'm especially proud of my creative writing, which counted, and I got 13/15.

English trial has been my worst so far..

Emma/Clueless - 15/20
King Lear - 10/20 (pass!)
Frontline - 12/20

Total = 37/60 or 62%

I'm happy I got in the 80's for my previous assessments, and because the trial was only worth 20%, I don't think it affected my average that much.

i haven't gotten my paper back yet, but i'm kinda nervous now... coz the teachers were telling us that we "interpreted the stimulus texts in change WRONG" -__-;;

but i'm more worried about the modules... i don't think i really answered the question for emma/clueless... lol.

shite XD

i'm praying that i'll get over 80% though O______o;;;

im scared shitless about doing the advanced paper... man english is pretty much the only exam i go into with butterflies in my tummy for some reason... i mean i stress about all of them but i dont usually stress in the exam... just before and after but english all the way through.... i dont feel we have done enough on emma/clueless and i am scared that the king lear question will be on stuff we havent really covered ie readings (feminist, marxist, christian etc) which i hear spoken of here but not mentioned in class... all we have done is watched/ talked about productions and how they are contemporary and the film teachniques etc etc.... ohh and themes of course...
frontline not worried about... i hope emma/clueless is a creative question (they always do 1 out of 3 not an essay right?)

Paper 1 = 40/45
Paper2 = 49/60

I'm pretty happy with those marks, but I know that I could have done heaps more study for those exams!

You guys are spaz - people with high marks and think its bad. I think its a bit going too far to be upset. Maybe confidence too high? What about the rest of the normal world who are truly struggling. You should say your marks are bad, it's degrading to the rest of us, sorry to offend anyone...

i did SH1TE in area of study and that really pissed me off...

i can't believe i got 80% in both emma/clueless AND frontline... i didn't even answer the question for emma/clueless, and i only did one related text for frontline :p

Did anyone do the independent paper? if so what did you think.... if i knew stuff on emma/clueless and had actually done a practice essay or at least an essay plan i would have been fine.... but considering i went in there with nothing but the 2 weeks we have done of the topic i fucked it.....
king lear was a rediculous question but frontline was good... very good in fact
