It's fairly accurate.

What I should tell you now is, if you're entering "high" marks and you're seeing disappointing results, what will happen on the 19th of December, when the UAIs are released?

You may be setting yourself up for a really big disappointment, if you're being unrealistic about your marks, and the UAI. Having said that, it is still in alpha and it is anyone's guess (anything could happen). Just because you see a low UAI in jm's seeker, does not mean that you will receive that UAI on the 19th.

You're only entering trial, or assessment marks I assume? You don't know your scaled HSC mark, determined by UAC. Remain confident theone. :)

We'll know when they're released, won't we? :)

The UAI that you have seen in jm's seeker is what you would have received in 2002. Just as LazSeeker's UAI seeker will show you what you would have received in 2001. UAI seeker2003 (at www.ozseek.com.au) will best show you what you would receive, for this year's HSC. (I haven't used it, sorry, and it's too late to subscribe since I have no use for it).

Hang in there, not long to go now. :)

Just take it easy now, don't get yourself worked up over the UAI 8 days before it is even released (just over a week). You can believe that you'll "score highly" (attaining a high UAI), because I'm sort of the same, in sometimes overestimating myself, oftentimes I underestimate myself, but everybody likes to be surprised (preferrably for the better).

Not a problem, it's the holidays - have a break and chill out, let the UAI come to you! :)

No problem perfectionist. :)

It wont take long to download (even on dialup), just under 1.5 megabytes. But it's true, you've only got about a week to go before the UAIs are released - if you've got time to kill tomorrow, give it a whirl. :)

Nice! I think it's a nice set up. The only additional feature I would like to see is something which tells you what performance bands each mark corresponds to. It's a very nice applet.

But it is among the most accurate, in my opinion. Give it a try and play around with it, manipulate the applet and enter marks, watch the numbers change, spend about 5 minutes to see how it works. :)
the main reason UAIseeker is more accurate is that laz has more data to play around with.

i thought showing the performance bands was superfical since
they are:

90-100 6
80-90 5
70-80 4
60-70 3
50-60 2
0-50 1

We enter raw HSC marks, but I think braindrainedAsh was referring to the scaling process. She would rather see the scaled marks, which are different to the HSC marks, in terms of performance bands?

But I understand the superfluousness. Perhaps the scaled mark (marks you would have received if all course candidatures were the same) should be in terms of the performance bands as an "extra" rather than just HSC marks - aligned to standards.
