Do you need to sit the UMAT exam for a medscience entry?
As in the uac guide it doesnt say that umat is required and jsut states the cut-off atar mark
however my friends from tutor say that you need to sit the umat exam?

If so this is a problem cause i havent registered for the umat exam and registrations closed aawhile ago

"The test is used specifically to assist with the selection of students into the medicine, dentistry and health science degree programs." Your friend must've been confused/misinformed. Medical science is not within the health science category in this case.

When it comes to course selections, would the universities choose a person who have done umat over one who has not?

nope. they wont even know whether you've done it or not.
