Planning to do ACTL2111, ACTL2131, ARTS2210 and FINS1613 next sem.

Going to be many early starts!!

* ACTL2111 - Lecture on Thursday 9AM to 11AM. Tutorials only offered on Wednesday and Thursday

* ACTL2131 - Lecture 1 on Monday 9AM to 11AM. Lecture 2 on Thursday 12PM to 1PM. Tutorials only offered on Monday and Thursday

* ARTS2210 - Lecture on Wednesday 9AM to 11AM. Tutorials only offered on Wednesday

* FINS1613 - Tutorials offered everyday. Lecture timeslot options are - Monday 2PM to 4PM, Monday 6PM to 8PM, Tuesday 10AM to 12PM, and Tuesday 4PM to 6PM

If I'm lucky/smart with timetabling, I could get Tuesday and Friday off - either way, I'm near-certain having one day off!

So much for provisional timetable not changing lollll. ACTL2131 Lecture 2 got moved to Wednesday 5PM to 6PM.

Not a big deal, but just to note that provisional semester timetables do change!

Interesting news about FINS1613 next sem (ie Sem 1 2016) - Maloney is the new lecturer-in-charge (replacing Rob Tumarkin) - have not heard of Maloney before tbh. Also, Peter Anderson will now be lecturing! From what I have understood, Peter will be lecturing first 3 weeks. Rob for one week. Ms Zhang (idk who she is) for two weeks. And Maloney for last 6 weeks

Any thoughts, guys?

from my experience with having more than one lecturer teaching a course is shit

for example in MMAN2300 right now we have 2 lectures and the first one didn't finish all the content in the time but the other one speeds through it so we're always mixing lectures between dynamics and vibrations and it gets confusing

idk about FINS though

When you viewed it, when was it last updated? Reading it now and there are still no changes when "last updated Thursday 1st October 15:51"

Ms Zhang (if her first name is Emma/Jin) is terrible, useless like the worst lecturer I've witnessed so far. Shame Rob is only teaching it for one week because he's like Alberto but without the time wasting and explains things really well, was also a really good LIC (MyFinanceLab was excellent, very fair assessment tasks). Now Peter Andersen will be interesting (Best tutor but you never know if he's going to be a good lecturer though) but if he is, you're going to have a great 3 weeks with him. Now for Maloney (Currently lecturing FINS2624) in terms of being LIC if he's like Tumarkin, you're going to have a good time but if he's like Shim (Saturday Midsem during Defqon dafuq) gg.

Regardless, you will find FINS1613 a breeze thanks to ACTL.

That's her!!! Emma is just her english name and Jin is her chinese name (most interesting part of her lecture tbh)! If you like a boring chinese accent you'll be fine though.

I'm doing FINS2624 currently and find Maloney pretty good tbh, the lectures are actually useful and he explains the concepts beyond the content on the slides.

That's very great to hear, considering he is going to be my lecturer for like half the semester. Will be interesting to see what sort of assessments he sets!

It's not hard, it just requires a consistent amount of work each fortnight. It's most certainly a WAM booster, if your current WAM is less than 90.

Peter Anderson is still a beast. He should be a good lecturer imo. I remember when I had him in FINS1613 as my tutor, his tutorial slides were awesome and pretty much nailed every single question so that students understood it very well. Too bad the exams were way harder in difficulty in comparison though

Tumarkin is very good but cannot believe he's lecturing less now

That said I'm still hoping that if he (Peter or Tumarkin) sets the exams, he makes it fair for everyone. Not like Kyung-Hwan's assessment tasks.
