We're playing it risky and using PHP.
Risky? If you have any large numbers to deal with then good luck, i use Big_int dll for large maths in PHP.

Its also good becasue the manual is easy to access and read and understand,
And i believe you can use any language for the problem, VB for Q1, PHP for Q2, C++ for Q3 if need be.

PHP: Also realsie that they may not want to run it in a web environment, so iages would be out of the question and you'd have to make sure it can print/get input from the command line -- this is just a thought, not totally sure

is that against the rules??, does the team have to have three members??
Yes, your team has to have three members. But you can have team members from other schools provided the two schools agrees to and your team can do the open round in the same school/room.

Just get two people to join if you cant.
Tell them they can surf the net and get out of school or something.

I remember I did this in year 9 with two friends, we all were okay for our grade.
The thing was though, we never got our results back. We attempted 3 problems and correctly solved two of them (would have gotten us into the finals).
We asked the teacher who organised it and he said he hadn't heard from them.

To anyone who's doing it, I suggest you practice
*string manipulation
*arrays
*algorithms (obviously, lol)
