"and another thing to add, printing out all those sheets costs more than the texts books we bought, might as well print them out for us and we'll pay for them"

altho most of the large number etcs are due to room availablity some is due to cost cuts - eg i have a friend doing B Law/B Eco and he said he only has a tute once a fortnight and they double up classes so the lecturer doesnt have to come in twice to save cost

Ok, this situation is lame, but give it time! And be grateful that you won't have to present those report things in tutorials! At least that's a plus right??
Just randomly, I know 3 USyd students that have to go to uni 5 days a week because the uni personalised their timetables for them. And that would be more irritating than having 400 people in a tute wouldn't it?
BE POSITIVE PEOPLE!

we all have to go 5 days a week anyways, and most of the days are like for one hour each which is lame cause thats how long it takes to get there
and were not being childish, its just normal to complain about a new environment that we didnt expect,
the only positive is that theres more people to make friends with now ;)

Yes it quite childish. Do you really think that your the only people effected by the cost - cutting. Don't blame the university .... like I've said before, blame the government.

The government cut funding to universities. Other universities raised their fees and HECS. Now, which would you prefer - to pay more or loose a couple of classes - personally, i'd prefer to loose a couple of classes. You still have many forms of communication with lecturers and other students.

uws is a shit uni my lecturers are constantly reminding us how the uni is in a financial crisis. my biology tutorial has over 400 ppl in it. my anatomy pracs have been slashed from 11 to 9 to now 7. which means The Unit objectives now cannot be met which means i cant undertake anatomy units later in my degree and · It may not fulfil credit transfer requirements if i want to move to another university. my biology practicals have also been slashed in half to once a fortnight

Find me another uni that doesn't have such problems.

Well the largest lecture I have ever been in has had 50 people in it :)

Stop complaining, and just make the best out of a bad situation - teach yourself the work, ask your lecturers for help, read textbooks as well as external textbooks - you might even get higher marks this way.

Exactly, Cape and Natstar hot the nail on the head.

If you can't operate in a challenging environment where things can go wrong, then uni aint for you. I understand admin is a little rough at UWS, but all unis have the same problem. You could transfer to USyd and with luck you may get to sit in the Chemistry Lecture Halls, where the damn things are so hard and hurt your back, or you can sit in a new UWS lecture theatre.

Our uni is young, give it time. But if you can't handle simple little things, then I doubt taking any aspirations in the real world for you. Nothing is perfect so why bag UWS?
