Don't forget they take Super and tax out as well.

they add super, it doesn't come out of your wages.

you'll get an extra 6% on top of wat u earn and it gets put in super fund

True for wages, I am used to seeing salary package situations where they either state "+super" or "including super".

Also the official rate has been 9% since 2002-03.

That is unless the person is under 18 and working less than 30 hours per week or earning under $450 a month, in which case super does not have to be paid.

or u could get a well paying job that's cash in hand and not worry about super yet. $20/ hr on the day suits me ;)

i work @ bunnings warehouse as a cashier. im 19 and get $15 something on mon-sat and $20 something on a sunday. im pretty happy wit it

I don't pay tax though, I've claimed the threshold because I'm casual and chances are I won't be making $6000 by the end of financial year. Not sure about super yet, will have to check my payslip.
