In america if you have brains and drive you are not going to wind up working two jobs to feed your family in the medium-term. Remember you have to be 35 + to run for president. If by the time they are 35 they haven't been able to get a good job than they are probably not up to the presidency. The people who work two jobs for the most part are the ones who didn't go to college and I can't see them electing anyone without a college degree. Bill Clinton was from a white trash background don't forget.

I haven't forgotten. I simply don't think its easy to dismiss the millions americans living below the povety as lacking brains. It's not that easy to work your way up from the lower classes.

Bill Clinton...I don't know a lot about him. Just that he cheated on his wife, and for some stupid reason that was a reason to get rid of him.

You didn't even reply to my comments. My post was about the problem of comparing Socialist countries to Capitalist nations, which you continued to do in your reply. I mention that there is poverty in Cuba, and you do the same. Then state they are the poorest in the world with no statistics. What can I do if you regurgitate a common anti-communist which I already argued against.

It is not difficult to compare socialist with capitalist countries, just compare Cuba with its neighbours such as the Bahamas, Aruba, Dominican Republic etc. It is an area with unrivalled oportunities for tourism. If cuba was not ruled by a communist dictator its is in a position to have a developed country status like the Bahamas. It produce sugar and cofee with huge market in the USA. Only with capitalism will they become developed as they will have access to international market. The recent growth in Cuban economy was because they introduce limited market capitalism. Socialism did not help anyone except the rulers wherever it was introduced.

Why complain about the poor people's plight in USA while people in Australia have exactly the same difficulty and little hope in politics or social life? Why is it always Geroge Bush fault ? I saw on TV an australian teens addicted to cellphones running up $17000 debt is that also American or George Bush's fault too?

It is amazing that these same people who critisize US policy in overthrowing Saddam or potential war with Iran are the same people who critisize US for NOT interfering in Rwanda and Congo. Sometime they critisize USA for interfering, sometime they critisize for not interfering. No wonder US ignored habitual critics who have nothing to offer but whine!

A poor person has a better chance of becoming a prime minister in Australia than in America. In Australia you work your way up rather than 'paying' your up.


It is Bush's fault because he is the President of USA and thus holds the responsibility of his country and any impact that USA has on any other country would be his fault. Its his fault for the shit going in iraq and iran and its his fault for the increasing number of terrrosits in the world.

Any proof of a poor australian who have worked his way up to the post of Prime Minister of Australia? In USA there are plenty of examples such as Abraham Lincoln, Bill Clinton (son of travelling salesman), Ronald Reagan( son of shoe salesman and alcoholic), Nixon (son of a grocer) just to name a few or recent ones except Abraham Lincoln. Ok where is your proof that a poor australian who made it to Prime Ministership or even a Premier of state? Or are you just pulling assumption out of ur arse as usual?

Yes, our actors and singers flee to America when they become succesful. What a powerful argument that America is better than us! God knows the world wouldn't be the same place without Nicole Kidman. The fact that they go to America and get rich off the American public isn't really an argument against the 'badness' of America, to me. A lot of our intellectuals actually go to Asia, to China and Japan. Does that mean that China is better than the US?

Better is subjective. It seems a little strange to have an Australian such as yourself believing that America is a better country than ours but you do have the right to believe what you want, that's one of the privileges you have as an Australian.

now its not easy.. the only reason those people became presidents was that at the time -one status was important and secondly they were very highly educated.

John Howard was never poor from your definition of rich, in fact he was well off having family business and as a solicitor, compared to Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan who worked their way from the bottom to the top. So far your claim did not bring you nowhere, John Howard nor any australian Prime Minister were never poor in their life. And your claim that it is easy for rich people to become President is not proved either since a trailer trash kid Bill Clinton beat Ross Perot, a billiionaire in Presidential election.

Oh really , most of the sources I put up are from britannica, Wikipedia, BBC, CNN, NY Times, AP, AFP, Reuters and various australian newspaper. Biased against what? If those sources are biased against you and your kind then you must be wrong! Cause they are the same news source as newspapers and tv channels around the world, especially reuters, AP and AFP.:wave:
