so, what are the weirdest foods you've tried?

for me- bird's nest (actually made of swallow saliva), and dog meat stew in Korea

omg, i'd never have the guts to try any of those out :\
I've personally never tried anything weird enough for me to mention, because i dont have the courage to try out stuff that i dont know

i'll try just about anything if it's offered but i've never eaten anything too freaky. probably the weirdest things i remember eating are

1. these filipino 'lollies' i don't know what they were called, they were like little pink discs and they tasted like epic fail. i nearly gagged.
2. a gelatinous desert my friend's mum makes. it looks really gross, but it tastes really nice esp. with custard. again, no idea of the name.

has a very bland taste to it actually, i can never tell cos it always seems to absorb the flavours of the dish it's cooked with! the consistency is really soft, like jelly except a bit more chewy

this green fruit or vegetable i had when i was in thailand not sure what it was. it had a rough texture to it and was white on the inside. tasted like fucking shit and never want to eat it again.

Pigs blood
Crocodile broth
Pidgeons are pretty popular
Chicken feet
Soup boiled from cicada shells and other wood/plant matter
Fish eyeballs

I dont know.. Don't pay much attention as I find those pretty normal..

There's only been one food that has freaked me out.
It's still Balut.

Balut is a fully developed duck fetus.... I reckon it's about to hatch from the egg when they cook it..

I hate ox tongue.. it's too chewy and it stinks like shit.. actually it reminds me of camel breath..

Speaking of weird... I thought eating BBQ kangaroo meat was weird... I went to some national park and they told us that they're doing population control and they just shot down some kangaroo, BBQ'd it... then handed it to me on a cracker.. eating our fauna, yum.

It's cooked in a tray and it solidifies and they cut it up into ice cube sized blocks and it's like jelly but harder and they garnish it with shallots, etc.
