May-cat, whoa you really didn't like it, did you. OK, I'll give that one a miss then. Do you have any other recommendations? I'm pretty much open to any genre, but I dunno I don't really read anything Matthew Reilly or Wilbur Smith...not really any popular fiction. I only read YA if I'm bored or if its OUTSTANDING. Thanks for your opinion.

wuthering heights
for english extension 1

:music:
I know this is completely off topic, but is english extension 1 hard? My teachers are saying I should do it but I'm hesitating b/c of all the negative comments I've heard about it. What do you reckon?

It could just be me, like i said, it had a great concept but the authors writing style just really annoyed me.

Finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

A friend recommended me his previous novel The Messenger so I'm attempting to read it now. Nearly done with John Boyne's The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.

:):)
I though The Book Thief was amazing, I loved the way it was written. I have also read The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas, thought it was good too. What are your opinions on them?

I am now reading Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, it is a really good book, interesting plot and concepts.

I liked it, but not so much that I would read it again.

That's probably because we analysed the life out of it in school, though. As a novel on its own without worksheets it's probably pretty ace.

"Ransom" and "Complete Stories" of David Malouf. A highly lyrical writer; love his style

To Ipodnano, are you reading 'To Kill a Mockingbird' for English? I had too. Um...at the moment I'm kinda not reading anything in particular. Might try one of the Bronte sisters. Wuthering Heights? I'm kind of steering away from the Austen, as people say her work is complicated and too far-fetched. What do you reckon? I've always wanted to read the classics, but now after hearing some negative reviews what do you reckon?
Thanks.
