one of my favorite books, probably reading it for the 6th time lol

Nothing lasts forever, even memories.
it does if you write it down

i guess there is definitely merit to not writing things down, in a Proustian way. events/experiences are always exaggerated (good and bad) in your memory and they usually surpass any and every possible reality.

e.g. homemade food when you're a child. nothing else is ever "just right"

I think Proustian type experiences are definitely the most vivid in terms of remembering, but I will say that with writing, you can capture your exact thoughts at that moment. Past thoughts tend to become clouded with present judgements and views, so sometimes it's hard to remember exactly the way you felt at that point (if that makes any sense).

It's a largely philosophical book, and requires you to think.
Nonetheless, it's a good book - it may only be a 200 pages or so but it's quite heavy.

Reading through a WHOLE compilation of Christina Rossetti's poems and prose fiction and my brain hurts :(

Her poems are so sombre and downhearted, it's making me feel depressed! So tired of trying to interpret everything she writes so I've been reading her prose fiction which has been okay relative to the poems. Positively, there are a plethora of new words for me to learn. Tempted to read a book I found on the web yesterday: 'Life's Dominion: An argument about abortion, euthanasia and individual freedom'.

Trying to finish this massive book in 2 weeks destroys my brain!

Chuck Palahniuk Fight Club is going to be next. I've watched a movie long time ago, everybody says the book is acctually much cooler. IMO most of the books stories are better as books.

Hmm.. I'm doing some research for my English Extension 2 :)
I'm reading a really honest and sincere, slightly quirky memoir - "Just like someone without mental illness only more so" by Mark Vonnegut

I am also reading "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens <-- But this is only for entertainment. I may have to skim through it because it's almost overdue ;_____;
