I've decided which degree I want to get into and as I'm now classified as a mature aged student (23) and only completed year 10, I'll be enrolling into the University Preparation Course given by USYD next year. According to what degree I hope to get into I need to enroll in Mathematics & Science so just thought I'd see if anyone went the UPC route, what you thought of it etc? I know its only natural but I've been out of the class room for a long time now, was top of my class in English, I remember my last Science exam being 77% and Maths I think I just passed - that being said I didn't take school as serious as I should've back then but lesson learned! ;)

I'll have March - September next year to pretty much 'master' HSC level Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology so if anyone has completed those through UPC, what'd you think of it? Was it easy to learn once applying yourself and studying regularly etc? I'm hoping the class room and my own 'home work' will be enough to build a strong knowledge base but did anyone find they had to turn to tutoring as well? Thanks :D

I have a similar story, dropped out year 11 and didn't really take school seriously.

So then I finally decided and used the UPC to get in to USYD. I did UPC English and had a blast: Teacher was excellent, so were my fellow classmates and the assessments were engaging.

You also do a short study skills course just to get you back in the habit of studying again.

As long as you do well (I got a Distinction AVG), you are pretty much guaranteed entry into USYD.

Best money I ever spent. Now I am a first year at USYD and loving life ;)

Hope that helps. :p
