Minai posted that the top standard English mark was 90. That would mean there was a band 6...am I right? If so, then this is wrong coz there were no band 6's for standard english.

There is one really weird thing. One of my friends got 99 for Ext 1 maths (HSC mark) but she wasn't in top 10. That must mean the top 10 all got 100 or something. But then only ONE person came first in ext 1 maths. So, how does that work?

Also, top mark in eco was 100....cos I got 98 and came 6th and if you look in the newspaper each rank is ordered alphabetically.

Do the top 10 rankings go by EXAM MARKS or HSC MARKS?

They go by (unrounded) HSC marks, to one decimal place.

99 in Maths Ext 1 could actually have been 98.5...

OHh is that how it works? I was wondering...they left my friend out of the maths top 10 even thought she got 99. But then if it's unrounded then that's different. So we don't know our unrounded HSC marks ay?

your 'unrounded' hsc mark is the average of the exam mark and the assessment mark......

Well, actually, it's the average of your unrounded exam mark and unrounded assessment mark. Neither of which you receive either. :)

i always thought that if your marks were for, say, chemistry 92 as exam and 93 for assessment, then your unrounded hsc mark would be 92.5???

Are you sure it was 98? Cos I got a 96.5 (rounded to 97) and was told I came like equal 5th (asked for my name not to be published so don't bother trying to guess!) and the top was 100...

Well as Laz said, they count it by the unrounded assessment mark and the unrounded exam mark...therefore you don't know what you got. Well Alex Salib definitely came first...and she told me she got 98 for legal.
