Mines kinda average in comparison to some;

Representation and Text: Frontline
Comparative Study of Text and context: William Worsworth and David Malouf.
Critical Study: King Lear.

but man....
Wordworth & Malouf and King Lear suck!!!!!!
Frontline's OK though.

Here's my combo:

Gwen Harwood poems = Pointless & stupid;
King Lear = Interesting story, but hard to analyse & break down;
Brave New World/Blade Runner = This is my favourite module in English because I love Sci-fi;
Frontline = Excellent TV series, but too much to remember

Eat this!

Area of Study : "Changing Perspectives" - Peter Skrzynecki poetry
Text 1: "Transformations" - 'Emma' vs. 'Clueless'
Text 2: "Representation and Texts" - 'Wild Swans'
Text 3: "Powerplay" - 'Julius Caesar'

I reckon that's fair terrible... :gridnod:

I did:

Representation and Text: Powerplay: Julius Caesar + 1984 and Hitler
Comparative Study of Text and context: William Worsworth and David Malouf.
Critical Study: Citizen Kane.

All were pretty Ok. I actaully started to appreciate the texts towards the end and i think once you do that it makes it easier to write better responses.

I'm sorry...but I think my english one is the worst!

AOS: Changing Worlds - On Giants' Shoulders (it's like a collection of radio transcripts on scientists discoveries - i.e. not english related!)
Mod A: Emma & Clueless
Mod B: John Donne
Mod C: Powerplay - Julius Caesar

Anyone else got off lucky I reckon!

This is ridiculus. Nobody has written anything worthwhile in here. Everyone is just whinging about the texts that they have been given. No-one has any basis for comparison.

Get over yourselves.

he does have a point though; how can you say that you have the worst combination of texts when you have not actually studied the other texts in the detail prescibed by the Board of Studies?

They do try and make it so that everyone has to go through the same amount of work/same difficulty, and therefore the restrictions that you must study a non fiction, poem, play/film, shakespeare, fiction and they must not double up.

The modules and the similar questions and syllabus outcomes also make the effort required for each text similar.

to contribute to the thread, I did
stolen children
hamlet/RAGAD
John Donne
1984

IMHO pretty average

fair enough.

they weren't that bad texts come to think of it. Might have hated them back in the days when these things did matter, but i can't imagine doing the HSC with different texts.

Gwen Harwood poems are very depressing...

And when you say you study Hamlet and R + G Are Dead under "transformation" - is that in the sense of change transformation or appropriation transformation?

Basically, explain to me what transformation is...

And ANOTHER THING, Min Ai, you have posted over 1000 times and you are a "new member" again - well done! :)

might mention that you don't need supplementary materials for transformations.
