Assuming you get 93+ in your ten units, for me: adv maths and english, bio, phys and chem (matrix calculator result in these figures for a 99 atar).
And what if you attend a large senior school where there are around 400 students doing the HSC, and bio for example has more than 200 students enrolled?

Definitely ranked around the 170s, but I've heard that your school rank doesn't help much?

school rank shows quality of cohort but does not affect individual atar.

Top 5 is a pretty good place to be if your school is ranked ~170.

But also depends on cohort sizes and stuff too. If you have 5 people for a course...well top 5 is pretty obsolete haha

Rough estimate on cohort sizes:
Chem: 100
Phys: 70
Bio: 170
Maths: 150
Adv English: 180
Ext Maths: 45
Ext English: 40
Which ranks should I have to achieve?
Thank you so far!

With cohorts > 100, I would probably reckon top 5, well top 10 at least. For ext maths/eng, probably top ~3? Not sure if your cohort is really strong, or if there's a massive tail or something. Sorry! Just strive to smash every assessment and do very well for HSC as well :p

I recommend looking at http://www.topscores.info/select-nsw.php#pagehere to see approximately how many band 6s your school gets each year :) that should provide you with a rough guideline for the ranks you should be getting.
This isn't that accurate, though, as cohort strength varies from year to year.
^ this. It's the best way to determine what ranks you'll need to achieve. Just go to the distinguished achievers counts per school by subject. (For example my school is able to get 10+ b6s consistently for Legal and 5-15 for Business though that might not be obvious if I just say that my school's rank is in the 150s)
