I did 14U this year, and I was organised and I'd say capable as well. Having said that, you have to keep things in perspective - you will only need 10U for your UAI. If you're going to put yourself through the workload, then be sure to focus on your 10 best units rather than spreading yourself across all 14U, doing average in every course but one or two subjects (where you may really excel). I would say that you should focus on your top 10U, even though you are doing 14, meaning you can "take it easy" with a few subjects, but still maintain a good ranking and decent marks :)
heh i could never do 14 units. im doing 11 and already thinking of dropping to ten but worrried.

i dont know which subject to drop i love them all and im doing well at them all. Music is my chill subject, dropping it wont reduce my work load or anything because my classes are before school and im only doing music 1, ive done heaps of muscianship and ive completed my CMUS in piano so really i dont have to worry about music! If i could drop a subject it would be english, i do v.well at it but i really dont enjoy it! im sticking wid 14 and im gonna see how i go. thanx guys xoxo

I'm technically still doing 15 units, but dropping legal....I loved all my subjects and couldn't decide until it got to assessment time...there's no way I could do all 8 assessments well.

So now I do:
software design/development
chemistry
physics
4U maths
3U english

for 13 units...a lot of back-up, but I like the subjects, so I'm sticking with it

11 units. I wasn't sure about continuing chemistry but there was no other subject I could/wanted to take.

HSC:

I like the combination as I find it allows me to maintain a relatively constant state of mind when studying, with the exception of english of course.
