Hey! I thought this was something that wasn't really shared in the Preliminary 2015 threads.

So I'm interested in everyone's path for their future, since Year 12 is in about 3 months!

  • ATAR you are aiming for
  • University you want to go to
  • Courses you are interested in

Mine are:
  • 90+ ATAR, ideally 92 - 93 ATAR (Raw)
  • University of New South Wales
  • Commerce (96.3 ATAR) or Economics (93 ATAR)

back when I was in prelim:

> 96+
> UNSW/USYD
> Law/Science/Engineering/Actuary/Medicine (had a lot of interests and wasn't sure)

now
> ~90
> UNSW
> engineering/compsci
Don't worry, having one or more course interests is fine :D! But in the end, you did take a course which was in your bundle of interests :)

UNSW Commerce Master Race ~
HAHAHAH! Yeah, I love my Social Sciences, I'm so excited, I saw the UNSW Business School and it looks amazing!
That's what really fuelled my interest in getting into UNSW.

I saw all the things you can...major in, but I'm not sure about all that university stuff, generally looking at Finance. Actuarial Studies is like T____T 98?!

I'll come contact you for any dilemmas I have in getting an ATAR for the Commerce course ;D ?

When I was in prelim I just wanted to do anything with atar >80

Now
ATAR 89
UNSW
Adv sci - anatomy
Its actually really interesting to see you guys reply to be honest, I wasn't expecting it, but its so interesting to see past HSC students also :D

Moral of the story is, that your interests will change/develop so it's best not to head into a very restricted degree.

Yeah ^^ I have changed a lot, before the HSC even started:

Secondary Education (aspiration to be an English teacher) --> Law --> Commerce/Economics/Actuarial Studies

And I'm hoping I stop here.

I'm hoping Medical Sciences at UNSW which is around 93 ATAR. But, you know. Money which I don't have. I'd have to move. I go to a low ranking school where a 90 ATAR will be pretty amazing. So yeah.

But a girl can dream right? [emoji14]

Well Afaik here's mine:

During High school:

ATAR: 96
Uni: UNSW
Course: B Commerce (Actuarial Studies)

Now:

ATAR: 93
Uni: UNSW
Course: B Engineering (Petroleum)/B Science (Mathematics, Statistics)

To be frank, I did actuarial studies in my first year, then I transferred a year after coz I didn't like what I was doing, also too hard to do well as well. =_='

Oh yes you'd defs have to move for UNSW then.

UON is also a great uni though

Have you looked at any scholarships?
Yeah. Plus I'll get bonus ATAR points for being at a 'disadvantage' because I live in a rural area and ho to a low socio-economic school. But I know there's a few rural scholarships around so yeah. Next year I'll be applying for everything. [emoji14]

ATAR you are aiming for: Personally, I'd like 95+ at least for personal gratification but I'll settle for maybe late 80's to early 90's
University you want to go to: UNSW
Courses you are interested in: I'm interested in so many courses and it's so conflicting because I JUST dropped down from 2U maths because I thought I was sure about the course I want to do but yuh. Right now I'm 78% sure I want to do International Studies/Media but most likely going to end up doing possibly a dual degree with business as well (I think that's possible lol).
and like a tiny tiny part of me wants to get into med
