But I just cancelled my iprimus account and joined TPG...
I wonder whether it will still d/c....
Maybe Optus is the reason i keep d/c?

I was on optus dial up before I jumped onto optus cable and they were fine - I'd always reach the 4 hour hard limit before I got d/ced

I've had iprimus for over a year, it's never misbehaved for me. Most of the time I don't even get DCed after 4 hrs, it usually lasts until almost 6 hrs straight. :) In terms of pricing though, esp because I have a second phone line and everything... it's quite expensive - like, for $10 more a month I could get cable (can't really though cause I have this lil problem with my illegal cable tv... so while the cable installers crawl around in my roof they might find out about it.. twas a hard choice between internet or tv ;))

Phone line, I'm with telstra. Might or might not affect internet speed and performance, hard to tell though ppl say phone line does affect it.

Maybe ring iprimus up, I've done it before when I had probs setting up.

TV : OPTUS
Internet: OPTUS cable
Phone: OPTUS

i had optus cable for like 3 years i think, they used to be really cool with that netstats thing, but even with these caps the speed has not really decresed for me, i can always get 500-600 kilo bytes/sec (at good sites) and its very reliable.

however if your thinking of optus you should probably wait unitll march or something, they are getting new plans then, since Telstra Bigpond dropped their prices so much.
