omg our teacher took a whole month and a half to go thru trench nature and warfare it was nuts we got really sick of it
wen u start ur options for us it was russia it was really interesting and yeh modern gets really interesting n exciting
but expect to do a lot of work and get a lot of sheets coz its insane
u hav to memorise a lot
if u dnt like essays or memorising a lot of context dont do it lol

yeah studying trench war is the most boring part. but (depending on what elective u do) the other units are 10 times better. its a good course.

speaking of modern teachers i see,

mines a major in the navy (which is quite a high rank) and his knowledge he has of both modern and ancient is o_o...


modern does get better in yr 12, but if i could i would rather do ancient than modern... only cause statistics shown that ancient get a lot more band 5-6 than modern haha

Navy Major... That would be pretty cool... But I don't think it has much relevance to modern. I wish MY teacher were him though... Or that teacher that *2512* has that was in Hitler Youth... But he isn't very relevant because they axed WW2... Bastards.

i loved my mod teacher, she is a total fruit cake. lol

she made most lessons just seem so riveting.

only reason i took history in senior years was cause of her. lol
now its my favour subject.

though we did nazis, leni, and stupid arab/isreali.
i liked all the moduels other then the arab one lol.

Does modern get any better later in the year? I've just entered Yr 12 and we don't seem to be getting anywhere. I'm stuck with WW1, and that's not half as fun as modern was last year... We are learning about the filthy trench conditions, which I already knew were filthy thanks to year 9. I hope gets a little more exciting...

I am becoming so sick of WW1, I mean come one, war of attrition, wearing the other down, I'm becoming worn out going through this all..again. Oh well, I shall soldier on as much as I possibly can..

I hope it gets more interesting aswell...

Arab/ISraeli , I would have aced that! I'm Jewish but I liek being contreversial and unbiased by looking into the arab perspective more...Though unfortunately gets a bit to heated in the class room.

I found the World at the beginning of the 21st Century Ok. Wait until you get to Indo China and Wolrd War 1.... Terrible...

USSR/Chinese Communism (I chose USSR)
Gahndi

We also did race relations somewhere in year 12. I chose the US one. Modern history is piss easy by the way.

Modern is my favourite subject. It's pretty easy too. WW1 is really interesting and i finished it last Friday. Now we're up to J Edgar Hoover and after this is done we're going onto USA and Conflict in Indochina.

Prelims was okay. I hated the Holocaust and World at the turn of the century. The Civil Rights Movement & The Tiananmen Square massacre were awesome!
