Well more than likely you will be firing a .22 it seems to be the standard. You have to recock it each shot, so you lose your position more easily. Biathlon rifles are really easy to cock, they were very close to being outlawed because of how quickly it can be done.

ye...dat's what they told me. It's not semi or auromatic rifle.

Well they are illegal to own and to fire them you can only do it on defence land, after completing the required training course and doing a test within the 3 months prior. Quite a bitch to fire a piece of tupperware.

I don't think you have to undertake tests for .22 rifles. I was referring to Defence Force Rifles which are really the only semi automatic or automatic weapons that civilians can fire.

Most rifles you won't refer to by name, normally just the caliber of them. I don't know the name of most rifles that are used for competitive shooting, but normally they are either .22 (ie .22 of an inch diameter caliber [most commonly used, use 5.56mm rounds, examples of rifles that use that are the M16 and the F88 AUSTEYER {both military rifles}]) or .303 (not sure if it is still done, but it is the AK-47's caliber, don't know of any civilan rifles with it).
