i have heard from my old biology teacher, that this option is a killer to teach and learn. he doesnt like it. but it depends whether if you're interested and like it not :)

hahaha. thats because all the books have communication as an option... so teachers can just photocopy all the infomation and no need to have any knowledge that is required to teach it. :p

My teacher said communications only takes two weeks, it's just incase we come across an answer that would better suit communications.

you guys are in luck... my option was human story
very soon within the month there will be an extensive set of notes on this option by me posted on this board
i rekon theyare pretty good because from my initial assessment of what marks i presumes i lost in the hsc after finishing the exam on the day...i though i got 14/15
well i'll leave the final judgement up to you guys but i'll post the notes up very soon
lucky u ay :)

as far as my teacher has said it is a difficult one to teach but from personal expeirnce it is not a diffuclt one to learn or understand
i found it quite straight forward
although it requires u to have a good memory as far as certain aspects are concerned but they are easily retainable
i found this optino very interesting and out of all the optinos i'm glad i did this one
i'll be with u human story kids every step of the way so if there is any help needed let me know

on another note i'm sure babydoll can help those who did communications when she returns from a deserved break

telepathetic

I did Genetics- 'The Code Broken?', hehe sounds snazzy :p
Anyways, i found it heaps helpful in regards to answering Qs from the Core in the 'Blueprint of Life' topic. Especially in this year's paper, where like 60% of the core was just on genetics, i jus used basically all my knowledge from the option topic to answer these. I mean u could have still answered them with ur knowledge from the 'Blueprint of Life', but it soon became quite repetitive and also, its quite good to impress the markers with some extra knowledge. :D
In terms of difficulty, i found it actually quite challenging and long...we finished it like on the 2nd last day of school.
And apparently, studying the Genetics option is quite good for people who want to do some sort of health science (eg med, med sci) at uni...it jus makes it easier to understand when u do come up to that stage :).

I did Genetics - The Code Broken also. It's not a bad topic...just kind of an extension on blue print I guess. It is quite challenging, but once you have a thorough understanding of the basic concepts (ie. how genes, chromosomes, alleles etc all work and fit in with each other) it's quite interesting.
So yeh, if you're into the Blue Print Core, genetics is the way to go!
