Business, Finance, Economics bla bla bla which Uni is hardest/best/most reputable/best career prospects etc for these (rather popular) subjects...

Thats the most desired, not best. And also many cut-offs are inflated due to bonus schemes.

seriously though afaik there is nothing in terms of a study which says what uni is the best for economics other than people saying their own uni is.

Perhaps you should talk to the forum member who was at an investment banking presentation at UTS where the HR lady said "we don't consider UTS graduates for front office positions".

done a lot of research, but found nothing conclusive so far.

ps. I'm mainly aiming this thread at past hsc students, especially if they do business.

Depends on more than simply the degree as a whole. what you intend to major in will be quite important in who is deemed the best.

Generally speaking, UNSW was rated as the best for business and law in a government report not too long ago. However, it shouldn't really matter whether you choose UNSW or USYD. One other point to consider is that if you intend to become a cadet I believe your choices are basically restricted to UNSW and UTS due to the availability of evening classes - unless you are willing to trek to Macquarie.

Which is the best university to do B. Com. from?!?!?!?!?

I am currently in Year 12 and I am doing my HSC. I plan to do Bachelors of Commerce in university next year and I am currently in the process of selecting which university to do it from. I have shortlisted University of New South Wales (UNSW), University of Technology (UTS), University of Sydney (USYD) and Macquarie University (MQ).

Please could you recommend to me one of these universities which is the most prestigious, recognised and valued university worldwide?

UNSW has a general education scheme which put me off doing a B.Sc there.

I'd go to USyd.

Definitely UNSW.

Widely accepted as Australia's best business school. More electives/majors to choose from than other universities and has timetabling flexibility (i.e. you get to choose the classes you go to rather than getting a predetermined schedule) which is great if you want to combine it with a business cadetship.

After that, I would recommend Macquarie, because the accounting and actuarial studies degree is also highly regarded there, though it depends on what you want to major in in the end.

Or Macq for actuarial.

UNSW has lots of internationals, one thing to check out.

From what I have heard:
- UNSW, a very solid commerce department, a good learning experience, very cohesive.

- Maq, has one of the best reputation for commerce, not sure if it is better than UNSW

- Usyd, I go there and I must say if you were doing law or something in the humanities department this will definitely be the first choice, but the other two will be better for a B. comm.
