I'm not going to vote, because for all the ones I didn't apply to last year I'm applying this year. :)

2003:
UNSW - No interview
Newcastle - Interview
Monash - Interview
Adelaide - Interview
Tasmania - Interviews not conducted

2005:
UWA
JCU
Melbourne
Tasmania
Newcastle

Possibly Auckland, Otago (not yet decided). The above are listed in no particular order, and obviously I don't know where I'll get an interview though I hope I get one everywhere again. I didn't get UNSW, and never will get UNSW, because my marks aren't astronomical like they want.

Alvin I think I'll add Bond and Auckland to your poll...when I remember how. :p

Can you read? He said they were for Year 12 applicants only. Last time I checked, you had to complete a degree to apply for Sydney.

Isn't Otago the uni that makes you do a year of Health Science (or something similar to that) before allowing you to try to transfer to med?

What about UQ (Uni of Queensland)...I also applied there. They have provisional entry (50 places).

Yes, there are a lot more Med schools in the region than just UNSW, USyd and Newcastle. USyd is initiating a provisional entry Medical course similar to UQ (check out their website) but you have to go into BMedSc.

I'm having trouble ammending the poll, should be fixed soon though.

im doing med sci now, considering doing post grad med at usyd, but i'll just wait and see how i go first. from a young age ive always been fascinated by what docotrs do, several members of my family are doctors, and i see how the long and unstable hours affect their lives but its still in the back of my mind.

umm...im doing med sci at CSU, they dont have a post grad med program, but the med sci program is recognised and reputable, i know several people who've made the step from med sci at csu to post grad at usyd.

I wonder how many people would move for it- strikes me as a little absurd to move my place of residence (which is extremely inconvenient for me) for fruits I won't see for four years.

theres a difference..
rural placements are part of the course.. in adel we do six placements.. u study while in the rural area.. lik... a few weeks..

im not sure as an intern tho..

but im talkin bo rural bonded.. which in exchange for a HECS place u provide the govt with 6 years of ure time in certain areas.. after u are fulli qualified.. initialli the draft plans incl. that u go only when uve done ure specialty too so like 15 yrs after u sign the contract.

haha im not sure its 15 years alvin...for undergrads its 5-6 years degree, then 2yrs internship then 3 years specialising while working as a registrar isn't it? which would be 10-11 years instead.

for postgrad is hate to be in a bonded situation though. 3-4 years undergrad, then a 4 year graduate course etc etc...works out to be 12-13 years.
