I'm getting a new 1.67ghz powerbook soon - I'll let u know how that performs. On the Windows side, i've got a really old Toshiba (bios is dated 1997) and it still runs quite well. I think that Toshiba would be the way to go for a Windows based system. Don't know much bout the others. I've always heard good things about toshiba.

i really don't see anything wrong with dell.
I guess i'm like that cos i got discount on mine...

toshiba's now a days... they seem a bit ont he dodgy side.

my pref is with fujitsu.

but when you are on the look for laptops.
just know WHAT you want.
some laptop brands do not have the exact requirements for what you need, where others do. laptops aren't as simple as desktops where if you don't like one part, you can pop around the corner to replace it.

if you don't like a brand because someone said so, but it has exactly what you want, then get it.

the bottom line is, get something that you want, not because of the brand.

ps. go dell d600!!!

Apple if your ghey??? Are you really trying to say gay??

Whats so bad about apple, I can't understand why people diss them. I've got a Windows PC.. but I'm getting an Apple laptop (Powerbook 1.67ghz, 64mb graphics, 8x DVD drive, 80gb hdd - all standard) because of all the additional features that you cant find on some other laptops.
Apple helped in the development of USB and firewire, and where would we be without those technologies now? I think that Apple have some great innovations. Its not as simple as Apple Vs Microsoft, as Microsoft don't make hardware.
And dont mistake me for one of the diehard mac fans.. as I said, I still have my windows PC, but the Apple laptop is feature packed which is why im getting it.

What features that Macs don't that PCs do???

You may also like to view these promo videos .. you'll need broadband though cause they are fairly large. Maybe they will enlighten you to why Macs arent the bad machine that they are sometimes made out to be!

I wanted to get an Apple iBook or Powerbook, but they're not good for word processing, i.e. the words are .... 'smudgy'. Apparently it's great for photo or video editings and stuff like that. I ended up buying a Sony, which I think is still great.
