Ancient History is quite heavy, but defz not as heavy as Modern History imo. I would think that legal studies would scale better, but I wouldn't have a clue

I can't comment on the workload because I don't do many of these subjects.

But. I can say that whichever one would give you a better ATAR really depends on how much work you put into them. Liking the subjects will make it much easier to do this, obviously. So you should choose the subjects that you enjoy the most.

Whoa. I take it you like humanities??

What are you planning to do once you finish your HSC? And your question is should I do Ancient History or Legal? If so, I'd suggest doing Ancient, purely because I find legal extremely boring and I like history :)

Some people like Legal more than History. So it depends on OP's preference.

I actually am finding modern less heavy than ancient. Ancient isn't as concrete so you need to name drop heaps and remember Latin terms for things, it is a bitch.

I do EE2 :)
But I honestly couldn't tell you what the workload is like when you have other content-based subjects. Because in term 4, I did at the most 400words of my major work, so it didn't interfere with my other subjects at all. During the holidays I spent a looooot of time on it - did like 100+ pages of research and wrote about 7000 words. But after getting feedback from teachers and stuff, I've decided that I need to change a lot of things so now's when the real work starts. But I think it really helps if you get a lot of your major done in the hols.

But having done 7units of those subjects for a year, I'd say the workload is pretty okay =) Aside from the normal stress of high school, I didn't find it to bother me much. It's not more work, just a different kind: instead of doing hours of maths questions, you'll be highlighting things, reading, making notes.

But seeing as I don't do legal/anciet/history ext, I can't really recommend either choice. One thing I have noticed with people at my school though is that the ones who took both hist ext & EE2, ended up dropping one of them because having two majors was just too much, so keep that in mind.

And remember to have fun :D

Yeah well basically it depends on 2 things. Firstly if you like Ancient or Legal better ( i do both and I think Ancients way better) and secondly which one youre better at. Also you should think about the workload and make sure it isnt too much.

Extension2 English depends on what you're doing. Critical will require more research than the creative unless you have no idea about the topic you're writing for with creative.
