Which Subjects Will You Be Doing? (1 Viewer)

This year I'm doing:

Adv English
Ext English
Adv Maths
Ext Maths
Physics
Chemistry
Legal Studies
Economics

14 units and shit-scared!
I already want to drop Ext English but English is one of best subjects, the other being History, so I am thinking about changing to Modern History from Chemistry or Physics (if subject lines permit), or maybe I should just drop Chem or Physics and keep both my extensions??
Ah well, we will see in a few weeks eh?

Hey Elke

It all depends on how much effort you are going to put into the subjects that you are doing. You would normally put more effort into a subject that you like, and thus get higher marks so I suggest that you keep the subjects that you like. Remember, you can always change subjects a few weeks into the course, providing they are on the same lines, and you can always drop subjects in year 12.

It's just year 10...why do you HSC people get all nerdy about it? Does it impact on your HSC results/subjects/anything?

its not year 10 .. its year 11!!

and the hsc course continues on from the preliminary course (though; the marks don't count) so if you don't understand any of the prelim stuff; u'll be in a hard time for your hsc course!!

And hello 07's (hehe thats kinda funni .. lolXD 07 ); hope you all make the best of this year & enjoy yourself, relax; but not too much. this year will be in and out before you know it.. and you; yourself; will be the one studying in these holidays in preparation for the yr 12 hsc

As you can see from the above, i'm more into the business side of things and i cant wait to get into it. I sound nerdy

and airie; don't stress out in year 11. ur last bludge year. (though; make sure u understand concepts in class. as it will all be helpful in ur hsc. try to see the long-term effects of things [ unfortunately; i never did in prelim >_< ].

relax for now; u WILL be bombarded wi th assessments and assignments and all the like as the school will try to fit a 4 term course into 3 terms .. very painful!
and don't despair if you receive bad marks .. they don't count towards ur hsc mark (thankfully) but learn from ur mistakes.

chem is hard work& so is physics. Although; if you do some pre-reading and do the questions that your teacher assigned to you and understand each syllabus dot point.

french continuers .. wouldn't know coz i don't do french .. or any language. haha

IPT : prob one of my best subjects. came 2nd in it ( coz nearly the whole class is like erm. dumb! haha ). It's easy to understand and the pracs are teh best part .. haha

Chemistry - Hard if you don't listen and don't do homework.

French Continuers - Didn't do French but did Japanese, revise every new vocabulary and structure you learn. During tests try to use as many structures as possible.

Haha my computing studies classes in yrs9 and 10 had been a huge bludge and most probably, we're gonna get my computing teacher this year for IPT, since she's the head teacher of TAS x.x Well see, every day we just come into the computer room, sit down in front of our computers and do whatever we want She didn't teach much and she doesn't care what we were doing...as long as we got our projects done in time See once she even came in like 10min after class started (well no one cared, we were enjoying ourselves on our computers ) and went, 'oh, it's so hot today, just sit there and do whatever.' and then she went out again. Then everyone was like, '...did she really just say that??' lol Someone even suggested to submit it as a quote in our yearbook, don't know if that made it or not though

My computing teacher for years 9+10 was kinda like that. At the beginning of year 9, he gave us work, and we did it, but by the end of year 10, we were playing games and checking our emails etc. every lesson!!
