i lov the books!! their so funny!

in book five in the austere academy.. "i can't tell if it's a boy crab or girl crab"
thats so cute and cool!

and the whole gothic stuff happening is mad.
although the book can get depressing and frustrating, like you just wanna smack Mr. Poe in the face and stomp him for being such an arse.

the words that sunny says are so great.

great books!

if i remember correctly, i just read the first 3 books
usually, my attention span is way longer - enough to actually finish the whole series - but this series might be a rare exception

i like meryl streep as the aunt in the movie though

Read them all, i loved them

Although there was one book, which repeated the first one or two paragraphs every single time there was a new chapter, and that got annyoing.

But My little sister bought them all, and i picked up the third and had half finished the book before I realsied I was actually enjoying it. so I read them all.

Good series I guess. Snicket's writing style got a little condescending at points I felt, and slightly annoying with the constant explanation of words.
The ending was a massive let down. A good lesson to apply to real-life situations, that you can't always know everything, but regardless a let down.

Loved them, except the last book. But it is intriguing [when you're 8-9-10-11]

I loved them... mainly cuz it was different from all the other books i used to read
but yea, the ending was really annoying and it got a bit tedious

First 3 where all right....
But then it kinda became too repetative and unrealistic....
Lol, didn't even finish reading the last two.....

Yea read em all when I was about 12 too. Became a little obsessed for a few months, with VFD and stuff, then the movie came out, depressed me and I haven't really read them since. I think I grew out of them. They were kind of fun, but a bit repetitive.

And yeh^ unrealistic.

I've read them and I used to love them...until I read the last book. It was good but it didn't explain anything!

And I HATED how Snicket had to define every single word...that got really irritating! I KNOW what the word means!

But the plots were wild and quirky (if a little far-fetched) and Snicket is such an unusual writer that I can't help but agree that it is a good book series :]

They're actually quite good, if you can get over how morbid and slightly emo they are.

I loved this series.

And I liked the definitions. It didn't feel condescending to me, I found it funny.

Although, I would recommend that anyone who hasn't read the last one should not bother and make up their own ending. It would probably be better.

Yeah half way through the ninth book I felt I was developing clinical depression and stopped.

I mean who wants to read about people having shit lives over a 13 volume period?

Btw guys read my poetry I am about to post in the reading room.

Shameless cross-promotion.
