Kurt Donald Cobain- First got me into music and makes me strong when I feel like I cant continue on. Long story actually... cos a lot think he suicided but if you look at the evidence (which im NOT going into) I think he was murdered and its like...well obviously whoever did it is still out there and he wants them found= hope=strength ;)

Thomas Matthew DeLonge- Made me want to play guitar

Eminem- Marshall Bruce Mathers III- Dont take shit from no-one be yourself

Carl Newman for his shear songwriting simplicity. such a clever and melodic writer. keen lyricist too.
Stephen Malkmus because of his bizzare sense of pop hooks, keen guitar playing and because he doesnt give a fuck
Jim O Rourke because of his insanely comlpex arangment skills, and his electronic wizardry.
Frank Zappa because of his remarkable depth of musical knowlege and ability.
Tom Waits because of his aproach to songwriting.

to name a select few.

Agreed. I totally forgot to mention zappa. He was never afraid to experiment (as weird as some of it was).

Way too many come to think of it, it's just too hard to discriminate. Pretty much any drummer who catches my attention, mostly but not exclusively metal/hard rock drummers, though they're probably the ones I'd most like to be able to play like :)

you forgot Longineu Parsons III- he's seriously the best drummer i've seen.

drummer- lp
piano- Brian McKnight
Vocal- should prolly be a girl eh?
guitar- Jack Johnson

Maynard James Keenan (Tool/A Perfect Circle) - Just... great. That's all I can say.
Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) - he can just do everything... and do it well.
Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters) - How can anyone hate Dave Grohl... Honestly? He's just such a friendly, happy and fun guy, and he can drum and sing and... you know.
Mike Patton(I'm not even going to start naming the bands he's fronted) - Great vocal range. Bit of a knobhead though...
Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom) - My favorite guitarist. Period.

I think that's it.

Lars' drums aren't that fantastic. He's a prick but over all I admire him for his dedication to the band, and he contributions to all the music.
James is awsome, but not on Some Kind Of Monster- that album makes me cry.
Kirk- gotta love the self indulgent "kirk hammet solo"
Jason is awsome, so sad he left but he had good reasons.
Over all Metallica is one of my most favourite bands of all time. They have idol status in my eyes.

Vocals of Jonothan Davis- I think he's awsome.
John Bulter- Great musician
Ray on the drums- most nimble ankles ever

I admire Prince for his songwriting abilities and am enamoured by the way in which Karen Carpenter can communicate a lyric with such melancholic depth.

John Lennon. He wasn't the most talented guitarist ever, nor was his piano-playing or singing particularly great. He didn't do particularly well in the education system, was a prick and a very confused man. And nobody got him.

I relate to that, and his music reflects this aspect of him to me.
