Will my biology class pull me down? (1 Viewer)

I quite literally topped biology by about 30%. Why? Well we have a teacher who really left it up to the class wether you copied his notes, did work in class or did his homework. Not to mention that we never wrote anything about the practicals we did in class we just simply carried them out with no knowledge as to what dot point they were adhereing to etc etc.. As a result 20/22 kids in my class did tiddly squat this year in biology. (mind you, I have full handwritten summaries for bio and well over 20 trial papers under my belt).

Now in the exam can their crap house marks pull down my assessment mark at all?
Do I need to go really well to make sure they don't?

The only way they can pull your assessment mark down is by you not coming first in your class int he final HSC exam. If you also top the HSC exam in biology at your school, then your exam mark will also become your assessment mark. e.g. if you came first with a HSC exam mark of 92, and is ranked first at your school, your HSC assessment mark will also be 92, giving you a final HSC mark for Biology 92.

thanx for that, yeah it all started in extension english actually. Cause theirs only 5 in our class and the girl at the bottom of the class just gave up half way through last term and stopped comming to class, and our teacher said I'm really worried that she will drag your marks down in the HSC.
And I was like what! people below u can drag ur marks down!!!

ooh im in the exact same sitch as you. I have a final assessment mark of 96 and the next one below me is about 78 or something and its scaled lol. in our trial i beat the next person by 23 marks. Its exactly as someone else said: if your first, you cant be affected by idiots. Not saying everyone in my bio class is an idiot...but there definitely are some losers in there
