Would you go to law school if you had the marks to 99.7 but you didnt like it that much. Like you dont mind it but its not exactly the course that hits you.

Depends, if you get 99.7 and cant find a degree/career path which you enjoy, then you might as well do something which is going to earn you cash. But if you get 99.7 and want to do something like at TAFE or another university degree then you definitely should do it.

Nope. Not if it wasn't the course I wanted. If there's something you prefer, even if it has a lower ATAR requirement, go for it. Don't just aim for the highest course you can get.

If you don't want to do it, or don't enjoy it, don't do it.

Think about it. If you just work for the sake of working and don't enjoy what you do, you're living a hollow existence. Your life will become boring and you'll most likely resent the original choice.

Do what excites you, something you enjoy. If it seems unreachable to obtain a job like this, work towards your goal and you'll soon see that it's never futile.

Never, I don't like law, if I did go for it I'd end up dropping it, or completing it and not working in that profession for a single day in my life, just not for me.

I like business and that's what I'm doing.

Just do what you want to do, something that'll keep you happy in life, something you'll look forward to doing everyday. No point getting in law or med for the sake of it when you don't like it.

If you want to live an unfulfilling life, follow these words.

A lot of people think of these careers as $$. Trade that for personal satisfaction, personally.

No of course I wouldn't. I'd rather spend my years after school doing something I enjoy.

Re: Would you go to law school if you had the marks to, but you didnt rrly like it th

As people have said, I think it depends whether there is something else you know you want to do. However because most law degrees have to be combined, there is also the opportunity to do what you want to do do, and also do a bachelor of laws.

My story: I always wanted to do a BA and major in ancient history. I also (huge surprise to me) got the uai to do law. I had never considered doing law before- I never thought I would get in, and I didn't have any experience in what it really was like (no legal studies at my school, and no lawyers anywhere in the family). At the behest of my parents (typical I know) I started combined law, with the intention that if I didn't like law, I would drop it and just continue with the ancient history. I surprised myself, and actually liked law. I still did my BA, I did honours in ancient history, and am now finishing my law degree, and am going to do commercial law when I graduate. I view the whole thing as keeping my options open- doing law didn't affect my ability to do what I really wanted to do at that time, and it opened a whole new area of learning (and future careers) to me.

Edit: one thing more- if you know you don't like law/arent interested in it, it can be a very hard slog through 5 yes. I know people that have dropped, and people that continue to do it, but are unhappy. The first three years are alright, because law is intermixed with your other degree, but people really start to struggle in 4th yr when it's all just law- especially if they have realised they want to have a career with their first degree.

Re: Would you go to law school if you had the marks to, but you didnt rrly like it th

Law is a career path which you have to be dedicated to if you want to succeed. Don't be fooled into thinking that Law automatically equals a high paying job. The market for graduate lawyers is over-saturated and if you aren't dedicated, you have no chance in hell of landing a job. The workload of lawyers is also extremely high compared to other professions with similar salaries so my advice would be to do what you want. In fact, you wouldn't be wasting your ATAR on doing a degree with a lower cut-off. You would be wasting your ATAR on something which will make you miserable for years to come.

Law is only for people with the passion to do it. Believing otherwise is delusional.

Doing law degree =/= becoming a lawyer. The degree is there simply to improve your employability which is why its almost always combined with something else. There are numerous commerce/finance grads. If u have a law degree aswell u are already head and shoulders above them when competing for the same job. 2 more years for much better employment. Profit?
