Great results! Remember people, as quoted by my tutor teacher, "SC is only good to wipe your ass with" (excuse the language). It's HSC that matters!
LOL XD
...that is if you don't drop out.

Oh I wish some people did drop out :( Not to be mean or anything, but they deserve (and probably want to) be somewhere other than school earning money and starting a family or something like that. It just has to be that way.

my maths coordinator said that we had a girl who got a low band 5 for maths in school certificate and did MX2 last year and got the highest band, now doing engineering at syd uni. Do extension english! everyone says it is heaps fun and btw the test was stupid. senior english is not like that crap.

So you're saying my 83 in SC English is irrelevant and also, I don't like reading books... so would I still have a shot at doing good at Eng Ext 1? (Probably not xD) Reason: My dislike for reading heaps of books

My feelings exactly! Coming from a school ranked somewhere in the 200's, we have quite a few people who just don't want to learn and don't want to be helped with learning. They are coming back next year because they just don't have anywhere else to go. A little sad really :( but school is not for everyone.

In order of lowest to highest marks..
Geography - 84
History - 87
Science - 90
English - 92
Maths - 95
Computers - 99

No study at all, and I missed out on a term of school without bothering to catch up.

97 English (extremely displeased; I should have actually looked at the questions before doodling all over my page..)
97 History (considering I ranted about the evilness of Menzies in my extended... -whistles-)
96 Maths (I felt like sobbing. :( I know how I lost all four marks and they were extremely silly errors.)
94 Science (winged completely, still so upset that I wrote the chemical equation instead of the formula for one of the questions.)
90 Geography (bane of my existence; winged it and scrapped a band 6 without studying so pretty happy.)
99 Computing skills. (so close to 100! QQ)

Considering I absolutely winged all six exams with no prior studying, I don't think I did TOO badly, although I'm still extremely disappointed with my English and maths results and in myself for not even putting any efforts in and being sad about the results afterwards. > <

That being said, that 90 in geography is really starting to bother me - maybe I should have actually researched what the hell reconciliation entails in Australia instead of regurgitating my extremely skewed beliefs in a sudden rush of obnoxious verbosity that probably had the marker sobbing halfway through my paper. :(

it is highly irrelevant.
btw, the best english students don't read. i don't read, not to say im the 'best' english student but from what i see in my grade it sorta holds true. My asian rival -.- doesn't read either. All in all reading is a waste of time. if anyone wants to increase their vocab- dictionary. com exists for a reason, news is useful for something yadayadayada....
Do EE1!
i told them that at my subject selections and they told me not to, but im an english person in my heart despite their negativity. u too should see the potential fun and excitement of extension :)

Sorry if you find what I said offensive. > < I'm not a very academically motivated person as I expect so much from myself without putting any of the required efforts in to achieve satisfactory results. Or, to reiterate: I'm simply extremely lazy and rely on natural talent without bothering to fine tune said talent to perfection.

School ranks don't matter! Reading myriads of books from a wide range of genres help in greatly increasing your vocabulary to a gargantuan size so that you have a formidable array of words at your disposal, ready to fire away at any offensive targets; i.e. SC. :)

I don't entirely agree. Seeing a word within a given context allows its meaning to be better remembered. Also, reading (to quote my English teacher) "cultivates the mind and nourishes the soul". Not saying that you need to read like 10 books a day, but a little reading here and there during free time never hurt anyone.

School Certificate English is irrelevant when contemplating which level of English to undertake in year 11 and 12. However, if you don't like reading books, then it might be best to stick to Advanced as your texts will just accumulate over Ext and Adv.

meh, 'tis tradition in my family (tradition started by one person, so not really a tradition) to do both EE1 & EE2. i hate reading but i enjoy pulling texts apart and delving into deep meanings and cultivating hidden ideas. The only books i've finished were the texts forced on us by school.

Yeah I used to be a massive bookworm in primary school, read like 3 books a week, read the first harry potter book in a day or two back when I was 6 etc etc and although I don't read anymore I think that the amount of reading I did back then still benefits me now when it comes to English. It's definitely a great idea to try and read a book every fortnight or something! It would really help in English, and just help you learn more about the world and be more eeducated imo.

Hmm, didn't really expect these results. From the test I thought I'd fail and comparing my school results with my school certificate results I'm pretty please with my results ^^. Can't really complain, didn't really study for these exams.

English- C/82 -- lol happy with this result, got 70 in my report o_O
Maths- A9/92 -- hmm thought I would get high 80s cause I skipped like all that consumer and pattern stuff (forgot how to do T.T)
Science- B/91 -- not sure how I got this high, didn't know anything about bio tbh
Geo- C/84 -- wow lol, happy with this I only got 69 in my school result :L
Hist- C/83 -- lol same with geo, I only got 70 in my report not sure how I got 80s for eng,geo and hist
Comp skills- 95 --fairly easy test to be honest
