I need car help :(

Occasionally my car will start start bucking, and its acceleration will be real sluggish and I don't know what is causing it. Its the exact same feeling you'd get as if I was in too high a gear and about to stall or something. It even happens when I'm just sitting there in neutral.

Help :(

Sounds more like an engine or gear problem. My friend's old car used to choke in first gear...kind of similar to the way u describe the 'bucking' how it feels like its going to stall. But yea its definitly something wrong so get it checked before it blows up on you lol.

Well obviously its engine related as it happens in neutral... could be ALOT of things really, if I had to guess one thing Id say something spark related... check spark plugs, leads and if the car has a distributor maybe that could be it. But realistically it could be heaps of things as I said, so Id be inclined to take it to a mechanic who could more than likely diagnose it quickly.

change the leads and spark plugs as it is most likely them and it wont cost anymore then $50. even if it isnt them it is better having new ones bc they will always eventually wear out.

It's highly possible that the problem could be along the ignition system (as others have said)

This is a more common problem in diesels, but could be bad fuel, blocked fuel filter or a dodgy fuel pump. If it's EFI try running some injector cleaner with your fuel and see if that happens.

Could also be the timing (not likely)

Give some more info about the car and me or someone might be able to help, but there's a heap of possiblities.

cheers
steve
