When you watch water evaporate and think of little molecules being 'set free' from the solid lattice... lol

when a period table from chem quiz was kept in the pencil case just in case
when a spacular is always in my pocket just in case
when i always have a pen and a paper to record down mass/MW of stuff
when you can rmember the MW of H, C, O N, Na, He, Li, Cl
know what does MW mean
knows which group does every single d metal belong to (not me, my nerdy chem friend)
doing spectra problem in a cinema/train
seeing a fragment of 77 and some huge C13 and H shift, you can shout out "OH A BENZENE RING"
played with liquid nitrogen at least once in your life
breaking a sugar cane and start thinking "dont' worry, that's just a physical change... i didn't break any chemical bonds"
have broken glass wares before

You Might Be a Chemist if...

you carry your lab safety goggles around with you at all times, just in case...
you don't drink water, you drink H2O.
you start disagreeing with movies and TV shows on scientific aspects.
you carry a base solution around with you at all times, just in case one of those freak Hydrochloric acid spills happen.
you become very agitated when people refer to air as Oxygen, and proceed to list all of the components of air.
instead of writing ozone you write O3.
you start referring to the smell of nail polish remover as an acetone smell.
you no longer ask for Tylenol, you ask for acetaminophen.
you actually enjoy going to Chemistry class.
you think a mole is a unit of amount, rather than a small furry animal in your lawn.
you pronounce unionized as "un-ion-ized", instead of "union-ized".
you wash your hands before you go to the bathroom.
you start explaining the condensation of water vapour every time your soda can has water drops and people think water is coming out of the can.

Yep our school does this, last year we played mole-opoly, a game invented by our head teacher where instead of buying houses you buy elements and the winners get Mole-teasers.

when you undertstand this joke:

A neutron walks into a bar, sits down and asks for a drink. Finishing, the neutron asks "How much?"
The bartender says, "For you, no charge."

or this

Two hydrogen atoms bumped into each other recently.
One said: "Why do you look so sad?"
The other responded: "I lost an electron."
Concerned, One asked "Are you sure?"
The other replied "I'm positive."

"You watch crime shows and know that the techniques they are using to gather evidence are wrong. And that Luminol, the substance used to make blood show up, will kill you in the large amounts these shows use it in."

Yes that annoys me too.

You guys need to start up an enviro sci nerd thread :)

When your at work cleaning something, picturing the soap anions hydrophilic ends bonding to the water and hydrophobic ends bonding to the dirt.

When you use the periodic table for insults to your buddies.

e.g. Atomic number, 67 42 corresponds with its respective letters

hehehe rather childish though :)
